The Circle is a fully accessible venue based in the heart of Sheffield city centre. Our spaces are available for hire during the day, evening and at weekends for a range of activities, with rates available by the hour, half day and full day. The Circle is owned and managed by Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS), a charity working to improve the quality of life for all of Sheffield’s communities throu

gh voluntary and community action. By choosing The Circle, you are supporting projects and organisations that are working to create positive change in our city.

We’re delighted to be part of The Pride of Yorkshire, a spectacular sculpture trail celebrating 150 years of Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Running from 8 June to 8 September 2026, the trail will see 150 lion and lioness sculptures, alongside 150 lion cubs, displayed across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster. Created by artists, schools, community groups and businesses, each sculpture is uniquely designed and helps raise vital funds for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.

At The Circle Gallery, we’re especially proud to be hosting five of these magnificent lions. Each one has been created by a local organisation that plays an important role in our community:

Greenhill Community Library
Artworks South Yorkshire
Nether Green Infant School
St Thomas of Canterbury School
VAS

Having these sculptures in the gallery gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to see the creativity, imagination and community spirit behind the trail up close. We’ve loved seeing how differently each group has interpreted their lion, and we’re excited to share their work with everyone who visits.

The Pride of Yorkshire is set to be one of South Yorkshire’s biggest cultural events this year, and we encourage everyone to get out, explore the trail and support the incredible work of Sheffield Children's Hospital.

🎉 Celebrating Volunteers at The Circle Sheffield 🎉

Although Volunteers' Week runs from 1–7 June, we will be continuing the celebrations throughout the month by recognising the amazing people who give their time to support our communities.

Join us for our Volunteer Fair on Thursday 11 June, 10:00am–2:00pm, where local organisations will be sharing volunteering opportunities and ways to get involved.

We're also hosting a Volunteers' Week Social on Thursday 18 June, 1:00pm–4:00pm, a chance to come together and celebrate our fantastic volunteers and the difference they make every day.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers for their dedication, kindness, and commitment. 💙

The office comfortably accommodates up to 6 desks and offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of our vibrant building community. The Circle is a well-established hub for the voluntary sector, with all bills included in the rent.

We also offer special rates for charities, voluntary organisations, and the public sector.

We are delighted to welcome a new exhibition at The Circle: Painters of Yartspace, showcasing the vibrant creative community of painters past and present from Yorkshire Artspace, Exchange Place Studios and Persistence Works. Thirteen artists exhibit together for the first time, celebrating painting as a powerful form of expression across a wide range of styles and techniques.

We were proud to host IDAS very first social event for their clients — a fantastic milestone and a truly special day.

The event was filled with creativity, connection, and positive energy, giving clients the chance to express themselves, take part in engaging activities, and build new connections in a welcoming space.

It was inspiring to see everyone get involved and make the most of the opportunity. A brilliant first event, and we’re excited to see many more to come 🫶

We’re almost at the finish line with our meeting room refurbishments — and wow, what a journey it’s been!
Brick by brick, it’s all come together into something we’re really proud of.

So much work has gone into this (huge shoutout to Rachael and all The Circle team for making it all happen behind the scenes 🙌), but more than that — it’s been built with care, detail, and a real vision.

We’re excited to welcome back Sheffield Artists’ Circle for the 4th year in a row here at The Circle! 🎨

This time, they present the beautiful exhibition Oubaitori — a celebration of individuality and the unique paths we all take.

We’re always delighted to host such a talented and inspiring group of local artists. Come along and experience it for yourself!

🗓 The exhibition will be running until 30 April — don’t miss it!
Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm (excluding bank holidays).

Free entry - fully accessible venue.

Exciting updates at The Circle! ✨

Rachael West, our Head of Facilities, has been hard at work over the past few months making improvements to our first floor meeting rooms—and the results are looking fantastic!

We’re upgrading the spaces with smart new carpets to create a more open, welcoming feel, alongside freshly decorated walls in calming shades of green—perfect for meetings, training sessions, and interviews.

To support modern working, we’ve also installed new flatscreen HD TVs, making presentations and hybrid meetings smoother and more effective.

You’ll also notice some thoughtful finishing touches, including potted plants and artwork to brighten the rooms and even help improve air quality.
And coming soon… brand new flipchart stands on wheels (goodbye to the old ones with the very long legs 👋).

It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to creating comfortable, professional, and inspiring spaces for everyone who uses The Circle.
