Sheffield Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Here for everyone living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. We want you to get the most out of life.

Our charity was established in 1964 to support everyone affected by Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus living in the Sheffield postal district. This covers Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and Worksop. Membership of SHASBAH is free for everyone living with these conditions in this region. You can still become a friend of SHASBAH if you live outside the area and want to join in our activities. SHASBAH supports by assisting, informing and advising on issues of care, welfare, treatment, education and to encourage full participation in society.

🌳🎒 Our adventure weekend away in the Lake District! 🌳🎒

Our residential trip with our Digging Deeper youth group was an fantastic weekend of climbing, abseiling and archery adventures.

And as if the weekend couldn’t get any more magical, we were treated to the breathtaking sight of the Northern Lights lighting up the sky! ✨

A huge thank you to Bendrigg Trust for making adventure accessible and inclusive for everyone.

THE AUCTION PRIZES ARE LOOKING INCREDIBLE!✨🌿

The countdown is on to our Outside In Charity Ball, and we’ve got something very exciting to share…

We’ve been blown away by the generosity of local businesses, organisations and individuals who have kindly donated some fantastic prizes for our charity auction! 💚

From sporting experiences with Sheffield United FC and Sheffield Eagles, to sweet treats from Our Cow Molly, farm fun at Cannon Hall Farm, and adrenaline experiences at Golf Fang and Delta Force Paintballing… there really is something for everyone!

And that’s not all! We’re also incredibly grateful to Hampton by Hilton, reknowned artist Joe Scarborough, Le Bon Vin and many more for their wonderful contributions.

Every single donation helps us raise vital funds for SHASBAH, supporting the people and families we work with and helping us make a meaningful, lasting difference to their lives.

Not everyone knows the many different ways spina bifida can impact someone's life.

Spina bifida can affect mobility, but also executive function, the cerebrospinal fluid pressure in the brain, and more.

But spina bifida is not a limit on what someone can achieve with the right support from the start.

That's why awareness matters.

Our botanical-themed Ball will bring together families, friends, local businesses and supporters for a magical evening of celebration, all while raising vital funds for SHASBAH and helping us continue to make a meaningful, lasting difference to the lives of the people and families we support.

Jiraffe work closely with carers, families, therapists and funding bodies to provide mobility, sleep and therapy aids that make a huge difference to people's lives, including many of our members.
