Last weekend was our project debrief, a chance for us to officially come together one last time as Madagascar MEM πŸ‡²πŸ‡¬

The weekend was full of celebration and reflection, as well as seeing what other teams got up to on their projects ✨️

And of course, we wanted to make sure that our last official team photo accurately captured the energy of MEM 2024 - so the climbing frame was the obvious choice! 🀩

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make this journey possible for us, particularly the wonderful GOLD team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything happen! πŸ’›

We had so much fun on our project, but we weren't there just to have an amazing time - we had a job to do! ✨️

Each GOLD Project has a set of aims and objectives that have been decided with the partner organisation (the lovely Mpanazava in our case) and so we spent our 3 weeks in Madagascar delivering training sessions to Mpanazava members to achieve these goals.

It was amazing looking back and seeing how much we'd done! And we're not the only ones - make sure you see what all the other GOLD teams have been up to this year!

We also need to extend our thanks to our amazing driver, Monsieur Ravo, aka Inspector Rav! ✨️

Mr Ravo was with us for the entire 3 weeks, taking us from Antananarivo to Fianarantsoa and back (and everywhere in between!) After seeing the roads in Madagascar... that's no easy feat!

Thank you for navigating all of the pot holes, providing us with the luxury of bluetooth speakers and just generally looking out for us all and keeping us safe on the road!

We want to say a massive MISAOTRA to our wonderful Madagascar MEM team! πŸ’•

Our project was pretty unique in that we had a wonderful team in Madagascar to join us on our journey. We're not just a team of 6 from the UK, we're a team of 12, and we cannot thank you enough for everything that you did for us!

So this is a special shout out to our Madagascar teammates - Ravaka, Kalo, Fie, Meva, Fana and Aina ✨️

From supporting us in training delivery, helping us to navigate the markets and using all of your local knowledge to make sure that we had the BEST time! We will be forever grateful for the endless laughs, dances and jokes that we shared πŸ’–

We can't believe that our time in Madagascar is over already 😭 The airport was full of heartfelt goodbyes and we really didn't want to leave!

A huge MISAOTRA to every single person who helped us have such an incredible experience - every training participant, commissioner and especially to the wonderful MEM team πŸ’•

The closing ceremony marked the official end to our time in Madagascar. We were once again blown away with the warmth and generosity of Mpanazava members and it was lovely to see so many of the people who helped shape our project πŸ’–

The other final training session we delivered was on teamwork, which saw Leaders and young members work together in problem solving activities, identify key skills in teamwork and think about how we can best work together ✨

Our final two sessions were led simultaneously, so our final training on non-formal education was led by Sarah and Thomasin ⭐️

The session allowed trainers and leaders in Antananarivo to plan their own non formal training, reflect upon training currently offered in Mpanazava, and, of course, share lots of ideas!
