On the Feast of St. John Vianney, patron saint of parish priests, we give thanks for priests across England and Wales who support us and help bring our work to life in their parishes.
We are grateful to parish priests and their communities for supporting our appeals, sharing our campaign messages and helping to make our fundraising possible.
On this special feast day, we pray for all priests across the world. 🙏
God, please give your Church today
many more priests after your own heart.
May they be worthy representatives
of Christ the Good Shepherd.
May they wholeheartedly devote themselves
to prayer and penance;
be examples of humility and poverty;
shining models of holiness;
tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God;
and zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments.
May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist,
and to Mary his Mother,
be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry.
Amen.
