Professionals Open Day: Wednesday 30th September, 2pm–4.45pm
Our Professionals Open Day is an opportunity to find out more about Likewise and the support we provide across Sheffield.

Calling all who like sports and food 📢
We're super excited to invite you to our Sports Day BBQ in honour of Recovery Month. This years activities will be hosted in collaboration with Sheffield Wednesday Community Project and Sheffield United Community Foundation.

You can participate in fun and nostalgic sports day activities like egg & spoon race or tug of war. If you're not feeling sporty on the day, there will also be arts and crafts activities. As well as free BBQ, with veggie options.

Taking place 17th September 11-2pm at Jubilee Sports and Social Club

Applications for our 2026 Ambassador's Programme are now open! ✏️🎉🥳

Our Ambassador Programme is a 6 to 9 month course run by our Recovery Hub here at Likewise. Alongside the structured course, you'll get to gain hands on experience supporting communities in Sheffield.

Why should you take part in the Ambassadors Programme?
✅Gain volunteering experience that can be useful for a career, previous ambassadors have secured employment with Phoenix Futures, Shelter, Project 6 and more. As well as a peer mentor qualification with Northern College.
✅Helping others who want to be in recovery
✅Past placements include Likewise, Shelter, Changing Futures

👉How do you apply?

Closing dates for application is Midnight 13th September, interviews will take place on 17th and 18th September.

Recovery Month 2026 is officially here! There's so many events happening across Sheffield that you can get involved in this month.

Recovery month is a month long celebration of those who are in recovery or on a recovery journey from alcohol and drugs. It's s a time to share stories, celebrate our community and come together.

We have so many events being put on by the recovery community and different organisations across Sheffield.

You never know when you might need naloxone. 💜

For International Overdose Awareness Day, we’re sharing Magdalena’s story of using her Likewise naloxone and training on her morning commute, potentially saving someone’s life.

There’s often a myth about who should carry naloxone. The reality is that anyone can come across someone experiencing an overdose, at any time and in any place.

Magdalena began carrying naloxone after working with female rough sleepers as part of her PhD research. She never expected that, one morning on her commute, she would actually need to use it.

A huge thank you to Magdalena for sharing her story with us, and for having the courage and confidence to step in and use naloxone when someone needed it.

If you're in the city centre go say hi to Zara and Michael who are running a stall for International Overdose Awareness Day outside the town hall till 1pm.
Zara and Michael are raising awareness of overdose and why it's so important to carry naloxone.
