Did you know our clients are superhuman? 🏋‍♀Check out our SGP lifting heavy weights at the Structure Sport and Fitness circuit last Friday. They had a blast challenging themselves both physically and mentally. We can't wait for the next session! 😁

For our final post in the Let’s Talk About Ket campaign, we wanted to share some advice from people with lived experience of ketamine use and what has supported their mental health and recovery.

A huge thank you to everyone with lived experience who has contributed to this campaign. From sharing personal stories and harm reduction tips, to joining our focus group, sharing opinions, and taking part in our conference, we’ve learnt so much.

This campaign has highlighted just how important it is to listen to and learn from people with lived experience.

Our Ketamine group have also been taking advance of the good weather lately, visiting Weston park and Museum, connecting with nature and enjoying the many duck shenanigans. 🦆

"It's always a lot nicer to walk and talk because you can get your thoughts out a lot clearer"..."It's nice to catch some sun and talk about the things we normally keep to ourselves". 🧠

The ketamine group runs every Tuesday, 1-3pm here at the Likewise Recovery Hub.

"There is help out there, there is people out there, you aren't alone"

In part two of this lived experience story, we hear about the importance of reaching out for support and the impact ketamine use can have over time.

This video highlights why getting support matters, whether for substance use, mental health, or the challenges that can come with feeling overwhelmed and alone. Recovery and support can look different for everyone, but nobody should feel they have to face things by themselves.

Thank you again to the person who shared their experience with us to help raise awareness and encourage others to seek support.

"It creates this viscious cycle, of I know I shouldn't be doing it as it causes the pain... but it also gets rid of the pain"

Today we’re sharing a lived experience story from someone who wanted to remain anonymous while speaking honestly about their relationship with ketamine.

They explain how their ketamine use began as a way to cope with their mental health, ADHD and dyslexia, but over time became a “vicious cycle”.

Raising awareness of the links between neurodiversity and substance use is important. Many people may turn to substances as a way of coping, masking or managing difficult feelings and experiences.

We’re incredibly grateful to the person who shared their story with us to help raise awareness and support others who may relate. We'll be posting part 2 later today.

Fun in the Sun for the SGP group as they headed out to Western park to enjoy the hot weather and visit the museum. We love having sessions out and about in the community and exploring the wonderful green spaces Sheffield has to offer.

Did you know that Sheffield is the "greenest" city in the UK with over 800 publicly accessible green spaces? 🏞

Did you know that Sheffield has a large range of mental health groups, activities and organisations that can support you?
This week of the Let's Talk About Ket campaign we're talking about mental health. Getting support for your mental health can be a massive step forward in your recovery, for any substance. There are also lots of opportunities to meet and connect with others.
👉 The best place to see what's support is out there is the Sheffield Mental Health Guide https://www.sheffieldmentalhealth.co.uk/

"It started with getting K Cramps, a pain under my ribs... I had no idea that was related to ketamine"

For the final part of Abbie's story, she explains the impact that K cramps and bladder issues had on her life. Huge thanks to Abbie for sharing her story. It's so important to raise awareness of the physical and mental side effects that ketamine can have so people are more informed and know to reach out.

If you experience any physical side effects from ketamine we always suggest to speaking to your GP. If you're 18 you can also reach to us for support or The Corner: CGL Sheffield if you're under 18.
