Friends of Loxley Cemetery

Friends of Loxley Cemetery Loxley Cemetery was the graveyard for the old Chapel; once neglected and overgrown but no longer!

We publish regular newsletters, hold Open Days, undertake burial research, and help people to find their ancestors' graves. We have regular volunteering sessions every month, when volunteers work clearing the site. We welcome new members, and volunteers to help us with our work.

We were very pleased to have been awarded £2000 from Bradfield Parish Council to purchase and install row markers in the Long Lane section of the cemetery. The layout of the cemetery is complicated and these will help enormously, so we are very grateful to the BPC. This is us at the presentation with the 'cheque', and with the Chair of BPC, Tom Vickers.

Just a reminder about our Open Day tomorrow. It's at the cemetery - we'll be up at the Long Lane entrance from 11-4pm. The 2 tours are at 1pm and 2pm - if you could book beforehand that would be great, but don't worry if you can't.

Our annual Open Day is Monday 4 May, 11am to 4pm. Come and say hello! We are running 2 free tours - at 1pm it's the Gravestone Symbolism tour and at 2pm the War Memorials tour. We'd love to see you there!
