This time last week we were all having fun in the sun at Oughtibridge Gala and, now that we've had chance to recover and reflect on Gala 2026, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the gala along with all the people who helped to make the gala happen.
Big thanks to ...
* Everyone who helped with setting up and taking down the gala
* The 367 South Sheffield air cadets for their hard work throughout the day
* The volunteers who gave their time during the gala
* The Oughtibridge Zion Church, Oughtibridge Parish Church, Worrall Chapel and Worral Community Association for the loan of LOTS of tables and chairs
* Our main sponsor, David Wilson Homes
* Adele's Butties Baked and Bread for sponsoring our baking competitions
* Crown Cars of Stocksbridge for providing super stylish transport for our gala royalty
* Speights Removals for helping to move tables and chairs back to their respective homes at the end of a very long day
* Bradwell skips for providing us with a skip for all our rubbish
* All our stall holders and good vendors
* Everybody that took the time and made the effort to enter our gala competitions

And finally, a MASSIVE thank you to the members of Oughtibridge Gala Committee who have worked hard all year to make the gala happen in our village for another year.

Hello everyone

It’s with a heavy heart and a lot of thought that here at Impawtant friends and the Gala Committee have decided that the safest and kindest think to do for our furry friends is to cancel this years Scrufts dog show. We are calling it a fallow year, and the 10th Anniversary will be held next year.
We apologise, but in our heart of hearts and paws we feel this is the the safest decision.
I’ll be here all day if anyone would like to discuss.

A message from Sharon at Impawtant friends

Morning ,
Hope you are managing in this heat. Just a little update for Scruft’s fun dog show at Oughtibridge Gala later today. Up to now Scruft’s is going ahead, but is very much heat dependent. Please remember if it’s hot it’s not wise to have your dog travel in a car, or indeed be out in the hot sun for long. The dog show is under the shade of the trees and there’s lots of water available. Very much hoping it stays cool so we can all have a fun but safe day.
Please make a decision on whether you attend based on you and your Impawtant friend🤞🏼🐶 x

Can’t sleep in the heat?
We’re setting up gala in the park from 6am there’s loads to do and get done and set up before our traders arrive then our fantastic public who support us.

Important Friends and the Wharncliffe Arms bring you the tenth annual Scrufts Dog Show to gala26.

The dog show arena and area is in the coolest part of the park behind the tennis courts under the trees.

There will be plenty of water available for the dogs. But bring your own for yourself.

Please be aware of the heat for your canine companion.

So we do like to share… over the last 11 years we have donated over £50,000 to local, LOCAL !! groups who need support with their own community projects.

Heres a list of who we have helped out in the past. You can also find this in this years brochure which you’ll get as part of your entrance fee of £2 adult £1 senior and 50p kids.

The gala costs over £10,000 to put on each year, but with your help we have enough to donate to good causes.

Support your local Oughtibridge gala this Saturday and your supporting your local area also.
