Brigantes of Wincobank Hill Iron Age Living-history/Re-enactment group The Brigantes of Wincobank Hill are a sister group to the Friends of Wincobank Hill.

We are a re-enactment/living history group who bring to life the story of the Brigante Queen Cartimandua and the Chieftain of the Catuvellauni tribe, Caratacus. The story we vividly bring to life in particular, is where Caratacus seeks aid from Queen Cartimandua to help rebel against the invading Romans, however Cartimandua ruthlessly betrays Caratacus and despicably hands him over to the awaiting Roman General, Publius Ostorius Scapula.

The garden behind the Chapel House is in need of a little TLC before we can build some raised beds in this border. The valiant volunteers from the North Sheffield Conservation Group are coming along to help and if you have a couple of hours to spare, come and join us 10 am - 12 noon this Saturday morning 18th September. Many hands make light work...

It is with great sadness we have to announce the loss of one of our members who has sadly passed away.

David Woodall was a founding member of our group and we have traveled together up and down the country to different events as the Brigantes. He also played general Scapula at our popular light up the hill events at our home base of Wincobank hill.

Dave was the life and soul of the party and a valued member of the group and a true friend to us all. We have many fond memories of him. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

A peaceful and joyful solstice to you all.
