Bents Green Pre-School is located in the S11 area of Sheffield and provides a warm and caring environment where your child will feel secure and grow in confidence as they make friends and learn through play activities. Please donate to us if you can - all donations are gratefully received and go towards equipment and experiences for the children in our care.

Please tune into BBC Sheffield at 7.50am tomorrow to hear manager Kirsty speak to reporters about the recent sad news re Bents Green Pre school closing. We are trying to find support to help us open in September.

😔 It is with deep sadness that we must announce the closure of Bents Green Pre-School at the end of the summer term.

This has been an extremely difficult decision to make but we have explored all avenues over the past few years to save Pre-School. However, the long-term decline in pupil numbers and, more recently, a struggle to recruit staff and committee members, has meant that the Pre-School is simply not sustainable in its current format.

We would like to thank all those who have been part of Bents Green Pre-School since it opened its doors in the 1960s, and we wish all of our current pupils the best for their undoubtedly bright futures. 🙏

The mystery of the scarecrows and the windmill 🤔

We arrived at pre school Tuesday to find these fine fellows smiling at us in the garden and a couple of windmills to play with, also a couple of chairs in the house.
But where did they come from?
We don't know.
What a lovely surprise, the children have loved chatting to them especially as we are learning about Spring and how birds love to nibble of seeds that are newly planted.
Thank you to the secret scarecrow giver.

We are working hard to tidy up, w**d and clean the outdoor area, we hope you notice a difference.

We wonder if we'll find any more lovely surprises next week 🤞🤞🤞

🌞 Spring has sprung! 🌞

Our lovely Friday preschoolers were very interested to see what Committee member Katherine was putting up on the display board today... with lots of successful 'rainbow' guesses! 🌈 All week, the children have been making flower paintings which we have on display. Next week: minibeasts! 🪲🐛🐞
