Do you have a story to tell about St George’s Church? We want to hear it!

With the Heritage Open Days festival fast approaching in September, The University of Sheffield is making this iconic church a central focus. We've been working hard to uncover the history of the building and want to know how your own experiences can shape and add to this story.

Whether you or your parents were married or christened here, you attended an event hosted in years past, or have photos and videos stored away, we want to hear it all!

Please put any memories, stories or snapshots in the comments below, or alternatively email us at [email protected] and help us by tagging any friends or family who may have something to share!

How do police identify sexual trafficking online?

As more exploitation moves onto digital platforms, spotting the signs becomes increasingly difficult. Profiles linked to trafficking can be hidden among legitimate adult service adverts, making detection a complex challenge.

In this video, Dr L'Hoiry explains how researchers and police worked together to develop the Sexual Trafficking Identification Matrix (STIM), a tool designed to support evidence based decisions and help identify people at risk of exploitation.

DNA is only two nanometres wide, far too small for ordinary microscopes to see.

So how do scientists study it in detail?

Researchers at the University of Sheffield helped develop a new form of Atomic Force Microscopy that uses touch rather than sight to reveal the structure of DNA. The technology is now helping scientists around the world explore one of life's most important molecules in new ways.
