RivelinCo

RivelinCo A neighbourhood arts centre without walls, proudly based in Hillsborough, Sheffield. We share ideas from around the world: thinking globally and acting locally.

RivelinCo is a neighbourhood arts centre without walls, proudly based in Hillsborough and working across North Sheffield. We make and curate arts activities and undertake civic and community work, just like a building-based arts centre, except our programme takes place in parks, supermarkets, community centres, high streets, car parks, empty shops, libraries, schools, and care homes - temporarily

transforming them into theatres, cinemas, galleries, workshops, classrooms and forums. We create and curate exciting shows, projects and events in unexpected places. We lead creative workshops that bring together people of all ages and walks of life to learn new skills. We collaborate creatively with local people, artists, businesses, and community organisations. Our projects are about people, and place. We celebrate. We question. We play. We believe access to culture is a human right, and our definition of culture is broad: our remit includes gardening, cooking, crafts, cinema, languages and sports as often as it includes theatre, dance, music and visual arts. Our approach is inclusive, intergenerational and environmentally sustainable. We prioritise respect, kindness and care: for our community, for our team, for our collaborators, and for the planet.

Hooray - Our shiny new Spring/Summer 2026 brochures arrived today!🌷✨
Fresh off the printer and filled with creative workshops, family performances, artist collaborations, film screenings and all sorts of joyful community activity taking place across North Sheffield this coming season.

This little colourful booklet holds months of hopeful plans, conversations and ideas, so it is VERY satisfying to finally see them coming to fruition 🌻

The cover image features performers from Crescendorious interactive family show Kids to the Front, which will be visiting North Sheffield this summer with dates soon to be announced! 🎉

Keep an eye out for these appearing across libraries, cafés, community spaces and venues very soon… or explore everything online via our website (link in bio!)

SHARE & REPAIR IS BACK ON SATURDAY 23RD MAY! Find us 11am - 2pm at RivelinCo Neighbourhood Arts Space, 96-100 Middlewood Road, S6 4HA.

Share and Repair is our FREE community repair shop and skillshare. Local volunteers, craftspeople and businesses offer their help to repair items that have seen better days, and share their skills with others. At this event we can offer:

– Bike checks, adjustments, small repairs, and guidance on how to do it on your own
– Small electrical repairs
– Clothing and fabric repairs

Please note that the service doesn’t include providing new parts, so if those are needed, please bring them along with you.

You don’t need a ticket and it’s free. Repairs and advice are given on a first come, first served basis. Bring the item you want our volunteers to have a look at and they will do their best to help!

RivelinCo Neighbourhood Arts Space is our new home at 96-100 Middlewood Road. This space is our new home and our full access statement is coming soon. The space has step-free access, an accessible all-gender toilet, and we will have air purifiers running. We have a portable hearing loop.

Last week at Young Creatives, we spent the evening with our two brilliant Open Up Sheffield artists ( & )🌷✏️🌀

Together, the group explored expressive drawing exercises, created strange mythical beings, and experimented with drawing inspired by flowers, movement, texture & feeling. At one point, everyone settled into a humming circle to get into the zone 🌙

Big thanks to Gemma & Jenya for sharing their practice so generously and for creating a fun & playful experience for the Young Creatives.

We’ve got lots more exciting Young Creatives sessions coming up soon, so plenty of creative adventures still to come 🌿

If you’re curious about our Young Creatives group for 11-16 year olds, you can find out more on our website or get in touch directly via [email protected]

Today is the 100th birthday of David Attenborough, so it felt like a fitting moment to share some of the wildlife drawings that have been featured 🌍💚

From puffins and foxes to salmon, owls, bats and ammonites, the young people explored creatures and natural forms connected to Yorkshire landscapes and ecosystems. We hope you enjoy this small pocket of colour, wildlife and creativity amongst the loud noise of the world today! 🌱

The drawings include a fox, kingfisher, barn owl, salmon, bat, puffin, otter, curlew, ammonite, adder and other nature-inspired designs, each set on marbled paper backgrounds in blues, purples and pinks. In the centre, the text reads: “Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!”

We are so excited to announce that we will be working with Yorkshire based sculptor Dan Jones this summer on our RUBBISH COMMISSION!

Dan's amazing artwork is called 'Fish Out Of Water' and is a shimmering, human-powered trout come to life. It celebrates Sheffield rivers' incredible return from pollution and rubbish to thriving biodiversity, and comes complete with a team of fisherpeople - fishing for litter! Find the fish at community events, fairs, and festivals across S5 and S6 this summer, making its debut at Stannington Carnival in July.

There'll also be some community workshops running alongside the build, so keep an eye out for more announcements about how you can get involved with those soon 🐠

2) A close up of Dan's drawing. It shows a huge brightly coloured fish mounted on bicycle wheels, with a person popping up from a hatch in the middle who is pedalling it along.
