A neighbourhood arts centre without walls, proudly based in Hillsborough, Sheffield. We share ideas from around the world: thinking globally and acting locally.

RivelinCo is a neighbourhood arts centre without walls, proudly based in Hillsborough and working across North Sheffield. We make and curate arts activities and undertake civic and community work, just like a building-based arts centre, except our programme takes place in parks, supermarkets, community centres, high streets, car parks, empty shops, libraries, schools, and care homes - temporarily transforming them into theatres, cinemas, galleries, workshops, classrooms and forums. We create and curate exciting shows, projects and events in unexpected places. We lead creative workshops that bring together people of all ages and walks of life to learn new skills. We collaborate creatively with local people, artists, businesses, and community organisations. Our projects are about people, and place. We celebrate. We question. We play. We believe access to culture is a human right, and our definition of culture is broad: our remit includes gardening, cooking, crafts, cinema, languages and sports as often as it includes theatre, dance, music and visual arts. Our approach is inclusive, intergenerational and environmentally sustainable. We prioritise respect, kindness and care: for our community, for our team, for our collaborators, and for the planet.

🍏Become an Apple Detective with and take part in a range of investigations and experiments as we look closely at the science of apples!

🍎 Take a look at Orchards of The Future, a collective visual art, storytelling and sound installation created by Y6 students at Shooters Grove Primary and other local children in Stannington for Apple Day. Come and add your own hope for the future and help our orchards grow

When exploring our Apple Day Time Machine, here are some of the wonderful activities you can expect to see in the PRESENT!

🍎Try some FREE delicious apple recipes from around the world with , from countries including Brazil, England, Italy, Ukraine, Iraq and Pakistan! As well as tasters of their recipes, there will be an opportunity for you to share some of your own with our collective recipe book...

🍏 Build your own DIY Birdfeeder with , using bits of scrap wood to make a birdfeeder you can take home with you. Plus find out about their courses and projects for beginners to learn woodworking skills.

🍎Find out about local community energy shares with Sheffield Energy Works + Our Cow Molly, and discover what are striving to achieve with clean energy on their farm.

🍏Share some of the things you’re thankful for in your community on 's Gratitude Tree and see what other people have to say.

Now also seems like a perfect time to mention some of the other exciting things you can expect from Apple Day outside our marquee, including an ice cream van, hot food from Stoney's Catering and our Live DJ, Shami, playing music and taking requests throughout the afternoon!

Stannington Apple Day, 17th October 2026, 12:30pm – 4:30pm, Deer Park

This week we’ll be showing you some of the exciting things that are happening as part of our Apple Day Time machine, starting first with the PAST!

🍎Interested in why we’ve been collecting SO MANY apples? Discover how apple juice is made with a live demonstration of apple pressing with Regather Cooperative , and try some of their delicious, pressed apple juice!

🍏Learn about local history with Hillsborough and Owlerton Local History Group. Through photos and stories, (and of course their expert knowledge) discover more about the area you live in.

🍎Take a look at The People’s Map of Stannington with Eggs Collective. Here you can see some of the beautiful designs and incredible stories collected, co-created last year with residents of Stannington. There will also be an opportunity to share some of your own stories, alongside a quiz!

You’ll also be able to catch Eggs Collective in both the past and future, where they’ll be bringing some time travelling characters to life – make sure to say hello!

Stannington Apple Day is this Saturday 17th October, and we have been working with artist Bethany Wells to design a beautiful space for the event! The theme is an apple 'time machine' where we travel through the past, the present, and the future of how we use apples, and Bethany has captured this in her colourful and exciting design, made from repurposed materials.

She's been busy building polytunnel portals, painting apple lanterns, dyeing silk canopies, and reclaiming old bike wheels! We hope you'll join us on Saturday to see her design come to life in Deer Park.

Our disco is BACK for October half-term! 🎃🍂✨

Join us for The Big Autumn Disco, with music, dancing, karaoke, creative seasonal activities and just a little bit of spooky fun! Costumes encouraged...a mini gift bag and dinner is included with each childs ticket.

Please note that this event is for 5-11 years but children under 5 are welcome to attend. Please ensure you book a ticket for each child who is attending.

Parents/Carers must stay for the duration of the event.

You might have seen our Stannington Apple Day posters and flyers out and about, featuring beautiful illustrations by artist Bethany Wells!

It's just a couple of weeks now until Apple Day, and we're so excited. Come along to Deer Park in Stannington 12:30pm - 4:30pm on Saturday 17th October. It's a completely free event, and will take place in a big marquee so we'll all be safe if its soggy.

Enter the Apple Time Machine to explore how apples have been used in the past, how they're used now, and to imagine how they might be used in the future . . . You can see how apple pressing is done and try some juice, hop on the smoothie bike to pedal-power your own drink, take part in apple science experiments, taste and share recipes from around the world, and loads more 🍎🍎

There'll be music, food, art, performances, chats, and of course LOTS OF APPLES!!!! Featuring Stoney's Catering Sheffield Wood Shed Regather Cooperative Eggs Collective Our Cow Molly Amazelab and many others!

Behind the scenes at RivelinCo! You'll be used to seeing our events and artworks on social media, but we don't often have the opportunity to share the weird and wonderful things we need to do to make them happen...

This is the start of a new series, where each month we'll share a selection of pics to give you a peek behind the curtain, and to help us document our year!

This month's post covers summer and September, and features:

Come on down to our FREE FUN PALACE happening tomorrow!

A Fun Palace is a free event made for the community, by the community. For all ages and running from 11:00am - 4:00pm, we'd love for you to pop in and have a go at one of our exciting crafts or join us for a cuppa and a nosy at what's going on!

We’re piloting artist co-working in our Neighbourhood Arts Space, starting in November! Come down and crack on with your admin/new novel/one millionth funding application . . .

Upcoming dates:
Friday 6th November
Friday 11th December

We can provide a table, chair and power socket, unlimited hot drinks, and speedy wi-fi – plus the opportunity to meet other local creatives. Book for the full day or for a half day. Please note it is a shared space.

Morning slots run 10am – 1pm, and afternoon slots are 1pm – 5pm. Both cost £3. If you would like to stay for the full day just book both. Carers, PAs, and access workers can join for free, you don’t need to book an additional ticket.

Our access statement is coming soon. We have step free access into the space but there is a raised lip at the entrance. We have two all gender toilet cubicles and one is accessible. We have overhead lighting. Some of our chairs have arms and some don’t. We will have an air purifier running and we have a portable hearing loop.
