Chapelgreen Community Fridge

Chapelgreen Community Fridge Everyone is welcome to attend Saturdays 11am to 12.30pm. All the food is free. Everyone is welcome to attend Saturdays 11am to 1pm.

We have food available that has been donated by local retailers, that they would otherwise deem as waste (but is perfectly edible) and is destined for landfill. We ask that you only take what you can use, and consider other members that want to also use the fridge. When you come we ask that you register with just a couple of details and then you use your membership number each week. Chapelgreen Co

Please also note that from this week we will be open to members from 11am to 12.30pm on a Saturday only. Queueing and ticketing will be just the same, just closed a little earlier!

PLEASE NOTE We will be closed on the following dates as it is bank holidays!

Saturday 4th April (Easter)
Saturday 2nd May (May Day) and
Saturday 23rd May (Whit weekend).

We are open all other weekends until the summer bank holiday.

Congratulations John Housley !

🎉 Congratulations to Councillor John Housley BEM 🎉

Ecclesfield Parish Council is delighted to congratulate one of our councillors, John Housley, on being awarded the British Empire Medal in this year’s New Year Honours List, in recognition of his services to the community in Chapeltown.

This well-deserved honour reflects John’s long-standing dedication, hard work, and commitment to public service and to the communities he serves. John has also served as Chairman of Ecclesfield Parish Council on three occasions, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment over many years. His contribution has made a real and lasting difference, and we are incredibly proud to have him as part of the Council.

On behalf of the Council and the wider community, congratulations John on this fantastic achievement, and thank you for everything you do. 👏

We are open on Saturday (20th December) and then closed for the Christmas and New Year break.

We open again on Saturday 10th January 2026.
