The Track Arrives at Power Station Road!
Exciting progress continues on the SLRG project as we complete our largest stretch of work yet! Last weekend, with the help of dedicated volunteers, we successfully dug, raked, and laid over 110 meters of road planings—officially completing the Winter Path section along Power Station Road.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the biggest turnout yet of local residents, who came together with rakes and shovels to make this vision a reality. By the end of Saturday, the section was complete, bringing us one step closer to a fully connected cycling, walking, and bridleway route across the Isle of Sheppey.
A special thank you goes out to the local businesses that generously provided essential equipment—including diggers, a dumper truck, and a roller—all free of charge! Their continued support is helping us transform this historic path into something truly special.
As part of the project’s next steps, we plan to install signage at key points along the route, paying tribute to the steam locomotives and stations that once operated here.
With every phase, we get closer to creating a beautiful and accessible route for the entire community. Want to be part of the journey? Join us for the next phase and help make history!
Thank you to all the residents who joined us and our local business partners.
