On Saturday we had a volunteer day the job was to put a small fence up in the car park area due to the fact that off road motor bikers were getting over the wall and this was a dangerous situation.
We used the material that we had in the cabin .

On Friday volunteers from Friends of Crompton Moor worked alongside Manchester City of Trees, working on Leaky Dams.
The FoCM team worked on a lower established dam clearing some of the Soft rush from the pond.
The MCoT team worked on the top of the moor finishing off the last of the leaky dams to be installed.
We all had a great day with excellent weather and 2 people falling into the pond kept us entertained.

Friends of Crompton moor volunteers try and look after this beautiful area for the public to enjoy the peaceful walking area.
But when individuals think it ok to camp and have barbecues and risk moorland fires and leave all their rubbish is a disgrace .
It took a lot of cleaning up and it shameful that people have no respect for the area or the people that look after the area.

Yesterday a great team of volunteers went up on Crompton Moor to remove the tree guards from around 500 trees.
They were planted in 2018 and have had a great success with very little loss.
We will be removing more guards shortly this will allow the trees to branch out from the sides and not be restricted .
The first four pictures were taken in 2018 when Manchester City Of Trees came up with a corporate group and and we had a great day.
