The recent post from the Naveseys saying they have spilt from the Shaw and Crompton independents got quite a few comments about this group of non-political independents. The best one came from a former leader “Those clowns would fall out with someone in an empty room. It is for the cash and an ego trip”

As the leader of this non-political is so fond of saying - LATER LATER - there might not be a later for him - he might be saying it is the END OF the S&CI🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

30 November is St Andrew’s Day. Incidently by the Middle Ages, Scotland wanted a different saint from England’s (St George).
Andrew was an apostle, which gave Scotland a strong religious symbol and helped diplomatically with the Pope and Europe.

I have just heard the news that a wonderful lady Mari Wiswell is no longer of this world. She was a friend who was strong and passionate about her causes and her family, as well as those friends she picked up as she went through the various stages of her eventful life,

My thoughts and prayers are with Steve, Paul and her wonderful family.

Shaw and Crompton Events Group have excelled themselves with this afternoon’s Xmas light switch-on. This is the 10th anniversary of the official Group.

Thanks to the tenacious Shaw and Crompton Events members who wanted better events for our communities and achieved that tonight.

My colleagues Dave Murphy, Louie Hamblett, Howard Sykes and Tom Penketh and I want to thank all those who attended today’s event and of course Father Christmas and his elves and helpers for making the event so very special.

The Big Lamp roundabout has succumbed to Storm Claudia meaning that some of four trees have been damaged. This has been reported and I want reassure residents that an inspection is imminent.

It has been reported that one of the Xmas lighting has been blown off in Shaw Town Centre. Hopefully it will be fixed by the Lights Switch On.

It was a brutal storm and hope that it did not cause too much damage to people’s properties.

Hopefully Storm Claudia and the 61mph winds and heavy rain will calm down.
