SHABBINGTON VILLAGE COMMUNITY TRUST
Monthly update from the Shabbington Village Community Trust.
Each month we’ll share news, progress updates and opportunities to get involved. We’d also love to hear your ideas and feedback along the way.
VILLAGE HALL
Our new Village Hall has now been open for six months, and it’s wonderful to see it being used so well by the community.
We now have three fitness instructors offering a range of classes, regular afternoon table tennis sessions, and many parties and events for both adults and children. We’ve also enjoyed hosting defibrillator and CPR awareness and networking events.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Hall so far.
LOOKING FOR COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS
We’d love to see even more community-led activity in the Hall.
Could you help start something new? Perhaps a parent and baby group, gardening club, bridge club, craft group, coffee morning or another regular gathering?
Whatever your interest or passion, we’d love to hear from you and help get things started.
UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE HALL
Thursday 21st May - poker evening. Places available for this friendly cards night. Thanks to John Kirkwood and Andy Jones for organising.
HALL WIFI UPDATE
Our next investment is Hall WiFi. We’re currently exploring the best technical solution and hope to have the system installed by the end of July.
SHABBINGTON BALL
Ticket sales have been really strong and we are delighted with the support, there’s a great buzz building. There are still some tickets available and plenty of opportunities to get involved as a volunteer, in the build-up and on the night. Monies raised will go to the River Thame Conservation Trust and the Shabbington Village Community Trust.
MILLENNIUM FIELD UPDATE
A new picnic table and chairs are due to be installed at the far end of the field within the next month.
OTHER PROJECTS
Early plans are underway for a cycle and foot path linking Shabbington to the main A418 cycle route. The project is still at an early stage, but we’ll share further updates as plans develop.
