Masterclasses in Portrait, Life and Still Life

Learn techniques used by professional artists to create a painting in their style. The classes with up to maximum of 12 students, are conducted on art school lines allowing the opportunity to experience tutors with different approaches. We only invite prominent and well respected professional artists to tutor, with a proven track record of teaching.

We will learn how each of them uses colour, observation and application technique to create a painting from initial composition to completion. Students will aim to produce a finished piece in the tutor’s style, over 3 full days using the same palette (Oil or Acrylic), canvas size and technique they have just learned: an apprenticeship approach. As each student produces their own work, they will receive individual attention and guidance from the tutor. When returning to your own studio you will have detailed knowledge of these influences to draw and paint from as you develop your own personal style.
