What a wonderful way to close the festival with our very first writers’ event!

We were delighted to welcome Booker-shortlisted author , who opened the day with an inspiring writers’ workshop. In the afternoon, she was joined by Lennie Goodings, Chair of Virago Press, and Christopher Wakling, critically acclaimed author, for an engaging panel discussion on How to Get Published.

A heartfelt thank you to all the writers and attendees who made the day so special!

Together, they shared moving stories of family, identity, and journeys across generations, sparking heartfelt conversations and reflections that will stay with us for a long time.

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the brilliant Reverend Richard Coles for an evening of conversation and storytelling.

In discussion with , he shared insights into his latest book ‘A Death on Location’, from the inspiration behind the story to his unique writing process. The audience was captivated, laughing throughout and thoroughly enjoying every moment.

The bestselling author will reveal the little-known gems to look for each month in this richly illustrated talk.

The Hidden Seasons shows us how to read the clues most miss and inspires us to explore nature’s signs for ourselves, giving rich insights into our turning year. The seasons will never look, sound or smell the same again.

Yesterday’s Sunday Times devoted a full page to Juliet Nicolson’s dazzling new book, The Book of Revelations.

Columnist India Knight called it:
“An engrossing and timely book about women and their secrets, from the 1950s to the present day... Juliet Nicolson also weaves her own family secrets through the book. Her father, Nigel, was the son of Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson, itself a relationship steeped in secrets.”
