I’ve just finished reading Katriona O'Sullivan book . Hygiene poverty means living without the basics most of us take for granted. Our West Kent project supports over 850 local families with everything from toothpaste to laundry detergent. Please consider donating a product or money. Link in bio to find out how.

For the sixth year running, Boots UK and The Hygiene Bank are joining forces to take action against hygiene poverty, and we are incredibly grateful for this 💛

Through the You Buy, We Donate campaign, Boots customers can help provide a lifeline for people experiencing hygiene poverty, simply by choosing everyday products they already know and trust.

Until 25th August, when customers buy participating products in store or at Boots.com from Tampax UK & Ireland, Always UK & Ireland, Oral-B UK & Ireland, Sanex UK & Ireland, Dove Global Channel 🌎, Sure UK & Ireland, TRESemmé UK & Ireland, Radox Mineral Therapy 🛁🌿, Lynx, Simple Skincare and Vaseline UK Official, Boots’ supplier partners Unilever, and -palmolive will donate one product to The Hygiene Bank.

This is a simple, yet incredibly powerful way to ensure more people across the UK have access to the basics they need to feel clean, confident and cared for.

Talent should open doors. Not the ability to afford basic hygiene essentials.

With over a million young people out of work or training in the UK entering the job market is already challenging. This can be made significantly harder for many young people living in hardship, who are being held back from opportunities because they cannot afford basic hygiene essentials.

💛75% of people believe good hygiene and clean clothes are an essential part of being workplace-ready

💛Almost 60% of people living in hygiene poverty have delayed or missed a career opportunity because they couldn’t access basic hygiene products

💛That rises to 80% among 18–24-year-olds affected by hygiene poverty

When first impressions matter so much, something as simple as access to deodorant, toothpaste or shampoo can have a profound impact on a young person’s confidence and ability to take their first steps into work.

That’s why Boots UK alongside The Hygiene Bank and The King’s Trust | Free Courses & Job Support, is creating 15,000 ‘First Impression’ kits containing essential hygiene products to help young people prepare for interviews, work opportunities and new beginnings.

How you can support:

This summer (until August 25th), every purchase of participating brands in Boots will be matched with a product donation, with over 500,000 products pledged to be donated to The Hygiene Bank.

Please get involved and help us work together to fill the gaps and work towards ending hygiene poverty in the UK.

From 2nd to 16th June, every donation will be matched through The Big Give, thanks to The Childhood Trust’s Champions for Children Campaign.
That means your £1 becomes £2, helping children across London access the hygiene essentials they need to stay clean, confident, and in school.
Don’t miss the moment for your donation to go twice as far.

Thank you to who collected over 36kg of essential products. Each product will go to someone locally who needs it.

We have a NEW DONATION POINT at in Riverhead. Our West Kent Hygiene Bank is supporting around 740 families via our trusted distribution partners that include 7 food banks, 7 schools and the women’s refuge to name just some. So next time you’re shopping please add an item to our yellow bin. Thank you.

🎄Today we got in the Christmas spirit and set up our tree at St Mary’s Church in Riverhead for their annual Christmas Tree Festival taking place this weekend 13th & 14th December. Decorated using minis of all the essential products we collect, highlighting the work we do.
