If you haven’t quite had a chance to catch your breath as the year begins, our friend is holding a gentle online Seasonal Spiral Ritual on Monday 2nd Feb, 19:30–21:00.

Held at the seasonal threshold of Imbolc - a time of returning light and quiet beginnings - this is a gentle, pause to reconnect with yourself and your creativity, and welcome the year ahead with intention.

This is a quiet, spacious space - no need to share, speak, or even have your screen on.

Just come as you are, be held in the spiral as we start the year aligned with the turning of the season 🌀

Martin Aylward began dharma practice and study aged 19, spending several years in Asian monasteries and with Himalayan hermits. Teaching worldwide since 1999, Martin co-founded Moulin de Chaves, the retreat center where he lives and teaches in SW France; the Mindfulness Training Institute and the online dharma community Sangha Live. A husband and father, he integrates dharma into daily life with programs like Work S*x Money Dharma. His latest book is Awake Where You Are (2021).

We’re just opening the Forest Garden for summer nature connection camps and workshops.

We’ve now got the beautifully designed horsebox kitchen converted by my brother Pascoe - we hope that these extra facilities will help to make nature and the countryside more accessible for families and community groups who, through financial constraints or cultural background, do not feel that nature-based experiences are available to them.

Thanks for the support from the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme, Kent Downs National Landscape, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and partners.

The Quadrangle Forest Garden is a beautiful and secluded camping spot with access to the river for swimming and within walking distance of Shoreham Village and The Darent Valley footpath.

The River: A short film about a small and precious chalk river in Kent, the Darent. Part poem, part history re-imagined, it tells its story going back 100 million years and sheds light on its fragile existence today. https://lnkd.in/evN4M8Tf

Written and narrated by Deborah Wolton
Made by Temujen Gunawardena and Badj Whipple.
Sound design Jonah Brody

“Lockdown 2020 was a strange time, our lives changed. For us the Darent came into focus, full of life and sounds, no longer just a river flowing past. Since the early 1970s it’s been clear that too much water is being taken from the river for our use and invasive species are damaging native wildlife. The river is in trouble. The local community have been working for 50 years to save it. This film is an ode to the Darent and a call for help. This might be our last chance.” Deborah Wolton
