Congratulations to Arabella who was awarded her certificate in London today after being shortlisted in the Key Stage 2 Contemporary category of the National Youth Monologues Competition. We were so proud to see her work recognised and celebrated at the national final at the Trafalgar Theatre in London this afternoon. 🎭

What an amazing day we’ve had at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe for the Northen Final of the National Youth Monologues Competition. Emily who was selected as a Key Stage 2 regional finalist gave a wonderful performance as Wendy from the RSC’s Wendy and Peter Pan in front of a packed auditorium. Roy and Scarlet were invited on stage to receive certificates for their Judges Commendations for their entries into the Key Stage 3 competition. And it was lovely to have Beau there too, who also entered the Key Stage 3 Contemporary category, cheering them all on.
The Courthouse Kids also received a School and Group Prize - Regional Commendation for Yorkshire and the Humber.
We’re excited to be heading to the National Final in London next month where Arabella’s performance as Veruca Salt will be celebrated as a Key Stage 2 shortlisted entry.

What a fantastic achievement and wonderful experience for our Courthouse Kids to have their work celebrated at a national level! 🎭

Thank you for the memories! After three and a half years of Saturday morning drama classes and six fantastic productions with Settle Amateur Operatic Society and The Courthouse Kids Theatre Settle today was my last day! I will miss you all but I am so very proud of everything we achieved together. Thank you for your support and the trust you put in me, I feel very privileged to have played a small role in the society’s long history and to have been part of the journey for the wonderful young people who will be its future. I can’t wait to see what’s next for you all, Paula 🎭

More amazing news from the National Youth
Monologues Competition!

Although they weren’t selected as regional finalists, Scarlet and Roy have received commendations for their performances and will be invited to attend the regional finals for a presentation and celebration of their achievement. They will also get to see Emily’s performance in the Northern Final.
And Arabella, although not a finalist, was very close and made it on to the shortlist. She will be invited to the National Final in London for a presentation and celebration of her ‘outstanding work’
We are blown away!
These fantastic Courthouse Kids are competing at national level alongside students from some of the top schools and drama academies in the country and it’s amazing to see their work being recognised - they’ve done our little group from the Dales proud!!

Great to have the Courthouse Kids back to class this morning after our extended Easter Break. And also fantastic to see two of our seniors leading some of the activities for our younger members as part of their DofE and Trinity Arts Award qualifications!

No rest for some of our amazing Courthouse Kids who have signed up to take part in the National Youth Monologues Competition this week! We’ve been busy rehearsing this morning with a number of children taking part in some one to one coaching sessions before filming the performances for the regional heats. It’s the first time that we have been involved and have a team of ten young people submitting self tapes of classical and contemporary monologues taken from stage and screen. Fingers crossed for all of them, those who make it through to the finals will get to perform on a west end stage in London! 🤞🤞
