Last week at Base 16 was another fantastic week, with over 150 young people engaging in a wide variety of activities. Sessions included the RSS programme, 1-to-1 support, tattoo artist workshops, Shadow Lite, as well as regular activities such as multi-sports, the va**ng project, pool, and table tennis.

It was great to see so many young people coming to Base 16 to have something to do, someone to talk to, and a safe place to spend their time.

A huge well done to our senior members and all the staff who continue to make Base 16 such a successful and welcoming club.

We hope everyone has a great May half term, and we look forward to seeing you all afterwards!

🌟Why should you nominate a young person for Nottinghamshire’s Outstanding Achievement 4Uth Award?

Last year’s winner, Archie, said: ““It feels absolutely incredible. Not just to win, but to be able to come and be a part of the competition and see what other people in my community have achieved, adds it all up and makes it such an amazing experience.”

If you know someone aged 11 to 19 (or up to 25 for young people with disabilities) who you think deserves to be recognised, we want to hear from you 🫵

Early nominations include young people raising money for charity, overcoming challenges, and more.

Find out more and how to nominate at the link in the comment section 👇

⏰ Be quick! You have until Friday 19 June to get your nominations in. That's less than a month!

Todays 1:1 intervention session, which focused on developing her understanding of panic attacks, including the identification of presenting symptoms. Appropriate coping strategies were introduced, including the use of grounding techniques, to support emotional regulation and response management. Opportunities to further support her personal development were also explored, including the potential for her to take on a senior member role and engage in volunteering activities to enhance her self-confidence.

⚠️ Urgent warning for parents from Nottinghamshire Trading Standards ⚠️

❌ Please do not microwave squishy toys!

A dangerous social media trend is urging children to put silicone squishy toys in the microwave, to make them softer and more pliable. Please don’t let them do it.

‼️ The toys get dangerously hot inside, even though they remain cool on the outside. If squeezed they can explode, spraying boiling gel and leading to severe burns, hospital admissions, and lasting scars.

🗣️ Please talk to children about these risks and share this message to keep others safe.
