At SBHA, we value the importance of listening to tenants and communities and ensuring their voices help shape the services and places where they live. That's why we work closely with TPAS Scotland, Scotland’s national tenant and landlord participation advisory service. TPAS Scotland supports tenants, landlords and communities to have a strong influence on the future of their homes and neighbourhoods. Through community engagement, they help ensure local communities continue to grow, improve and thrive.

This role involves a variety of tasks supporting the maintenance, care, and improvement of our estates and properties.

Salary: £25,878 to £28,362 per year
Location: Scottish Borders
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week

❓ What are estate walkabouts?
Estate walkabouts are regular visits around our neighbourhoods by SBHA’s Neighbourhood Team. They help us spot external repairs and estate management issues, such as dog fouling, fly tipping, littering, damaged communal areas and other environmental concerns.

❓ Why do they matter?
They’re an important way to help keep our communities clean, safe and welcoming. By picking up issues early, we can work with tenants and partners to improve shared spaces and make sure neighbourhoods are places everyone can feel proud of.

❓ How can residents help?
If you spot something that needs attention, please let us know. Looking after our neighbourhoods works best when we all play our part - reporting concerns, using shared spaces responsibly and helping keep streets and communal areas tidy.

💜 Know where to turn
Worried about someone’s relationship? Or your own? The Disclosure Scheme for Domestic Abuse Scotland (DSDAS) allows you to ask Police Scotland if a partner has a history of abusive behaviour.

The scheme allows you to make a confidential request if you’re concerned about your partner or about the partner of someone you know.

If Police Scotland holds information showing that someone may be at risk of domestic abuse, they can consider sharing relevant information to help keep the person safe.

We’re opening our doors on Tuesday 6th October, 9.30am - 2.30pm, in both Selkirk and Hawick -and we’d love you to come along!
This one is particularly exciting for us as we’ll be officially opening the doors to our brand-new Hawick Energy Advice Hub. 🎉🔑

Pop in, meet our Energy Advisors and find out more about the free support available from Sustainable Borders. We can help with energy bills, heating, supplier issues, energy efficiency, available funding and support - or simply have a chat about ways we might be able to help.

☕ No appointment needed – just drop in for a cuppa, a treat and a chat with the team.
