To our supporters, a belated update! You may have noticed we have worked with Pavilion Cinema Galashiels for our last few screenings, partnering with them to deliver the hugely popular Toddler Cinema format. So it may be no surprise when we say that there'll be no more community cinema in Selkirk from us. We are a bunch of parents who wanted screenings to take our kids to and we have been delighted with the lower-priced options, special offers and more choice for family screenings at the Pavilion with Merlin at the helm. We encourage you to go up the road to Gala and support your local cinema! Meantime, if you're a film fan in Selkirk, the ever marvelous Selkirk Film Club is still running and has a screening this Friday of Wim Wenders' Perfect Days, see you there!

We were absolutely blown away that over 150 of you turned out for Toddler Cinema on Saturday at Pavilion Cinema Galashiels !! Our pre-screening drawing activity gently introduced wee ones to the cinema, the popcorn and juice was much enjoyed and the films looked gorgeous! Make sure you follow for news of the next one in October.

Don't miss your chance to see this transformative film, right here in Selkirk on Friday evening. It's truly masterful filmmaking.

Dear Film Club Chums, on Friday 21st February we are screening
Shoplifters:2018: Director: Hirokazu Koreeda:121mins: Japan: 15 After one of their shoplifting sessions, Osamu and his son come across a little girl in the freezing cold. At first reluctant to shelter the girl, Osamu’s wife agrees to take care of her after learning of the hardships she faces. Although the family is poor, barely making enough money to survive through petty crime, they seem to live happily together until an unforeseen incident reveals hidden secrets, testing the bonds that unite them. A rich, satisfying and deeply intelligent film.
We're at Selkirk Parish Church hall, Friday 21st February, doors open at 7.00pm and the film will start about 7.30. We're hoping to have tea and coffee available for a small donation and you're welcome to bring a liquid refreshment with you.
Day membership and entry to the film is still unbelievably good value at £5, cash or cheque only, on the door.
See you Friday! Cheers, Al

Dear Film Club Chums, our final film of 2024 is a very fine one indeed;

The Taste Of Things (Dir. Tran Anh Hung; 145 mins; France; PG) is an acclaimed love film - love food, love cooking, love over a hot stove, love in a steamy kitchen - lots of love, lots of food, lots of cooking. What's not to like, emm, love!
We're at Selkirk Parish Church hall, Friday 13th December, doors open at 7.00pm and the film will start about 7.30. We're hoping to have tea and coffee available for a small donation and you're free to bring a liquid refreshment with you.
