This afternoon at 2.30pm we will be doing some nature crafts for under 10's, even if it is raining 😁. It will be held in Greig's Hub. Starting point is at the Swimming Pool where you will get your instructions. 😁

On Friday i discovered the Anthill Mob. No not the ones from Wacky Races, the real live version. It was fascinating to watch them busy at work. Each having their own job to do.

Borders College young people have been really busy making planters for us. They designed and built these themselves under the direction of course tutor Simon Watson who has spent many years doing volunteer projects for us. Some of these young people had never used any tools previously so we think this effort is amazing. Well done and thanks to all involved. More photos to follow soon.

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the birds are chirping and the woodland is looking lush, with lovely greenery, plants and sometimes a gentle breeze flowing through the trees making a really calming sound. It is a lovely place to get away from your stressful life for an hour, or use the nature trail to encourage your kids to get some fresh air.

There will be a new book at the bird hide soon for keen bird watchers. I have taken it away to count up the various birds to see who is our most frequent visitor 😁

🎉 The Young Rewilders group at Bright Green Nature recently celebrated their 1st Anniversary!🎉

What an incredible first year they've had! 🌟

They've built a strong core group of enthusiastic young people who are passionate about nature and the environment 🌳💚

Over the past year, they have explored rewilding sites, joined political events and connected with inspiring conservationists 🌿

They are now looking to grow even further across the Borders. Please help spread the word and keep an eye out for young people aged 16–24, who’d love to get involved! Let’s help the next generation of rewilders thrive 🌱✨

There has been lots of activity down at the woodland. Lots of birds chirping and happy now that the sun is shining 😁 little Mr Robin likes to hang around and follow us to share some crumbs from our biscuits 😁

Please keep your eyes open for our official opening day in the middle of May it has been a long time in coming but we really do want to thank you all for all your help and support and we will do all that we can to give you all the experiences you have identified for the woodland moving forwards!!

What a creative and enthusiastic final session with the Nursery pupils from Philiphaugh Community School and Community Centre; using the word of the day, you guys are awesome!! We made "transient art" pictures using natural materials and decorated clay models near to the cabin - go and take a look if you are there this week.
