We're excited to share the trailer for Tell Me by Sadiq Ali Company coming to Now Then! Festival Sherburn on Sunday 14 June.

Combining contemporary circus, dance and theatre, Tell Me uses Chinese Pole performance, aerial cubes and powerful physical storytelling to explore connection, identity and hope. It explores modern experiences of living with HIV and opens up conversations in a thoughtful and accessible way.

Expect a huge hanging red cube with impressive aerial performance, large-scale visuals and a moving outdoor show unlike anything you might usually see in Eversley Park.

What you’ll actually do: This is a 45 minute outdoor performance with space to stand and watch as part of the wider festival atmosphere.

We've loved seeing the updates from the Sherburn artist residencies, from drama and theatre to puppetry and circus! See the groups' creations and shows for yourself at Now Then! The news is out! Eko the Sea Giant is coming to Selby and Sherburn! We’re really excited to begin revealing the artists coming to the Now Then! Festivals in Selby and Sherburn next month.

First up, in both places, we are welcoming Out of the Deep Blue by Autin Dance Theatre . Waves wash Eko, a sentient Sea Giant, onto the shore. There he encounters little Violet. This impactful dialogue around our earth’s climate emergency is told through dance, movement, and masterful puppeteering. Ideal for children and family audiences. A story about the power of friendships and empathy that speaks to the world at large.

Keep an eye out for future posts confirming what times Eko will be visiting Market Place, Selby and Eversley Park, Sherburn on the 13 and 14 June.

'The Sherburn Sessions' are music and sound making workshops for 11 - 19 year olds. Led by Dr Jesse Bannister and Brandon Jin, the sessions are going really well and there is some fantastic work being created.

See it for yourself as those taking part will perform at Now Then! Festival, Sherburn alongside some of the best outdoor arts companies from across the UK.

We hope all the kids who have been working with Lois and Livy are having a restful weekend because from what we've heard, you deserve it!

We're delighted to share that dancer and aerial artist, Lois Grinstead, and actor, writer and storyteller, Livy Potter, are currently working with Athelstan Primary School to develop a circus and movement piece for Now Then! Festival, Sherburn in June.

Come and join our free Puppet Making Club!

Starting this Tuesday and Wednesday in half-term, then continuing after school on Mondays at the Old Girls' School Community Centre, Sherburn In Elmet work with professional artists to make your own puppet, big or small, the perform with it at our festival on 14 June. For ages 5-10, fully-funded so free. More details on the image.

Mary and Katerina, our theatre practitioners currently co-creating work with pupils at Kirk Fenton and Sherburn Hungate Primary Schools, were at Sherburn Gala this weekend delivering a Wizard of Oz workshop.

It was so much fun, a huge thank you to the Gala for providing the space. If you missed it, get involved in fun hands-on activities at Now Then! Festival on Sunday 14 June at Eversley Park.
