Singing Songs, reading together, playing games with letters and numbers and having fun with friends gives them a head start and that means not just a happy childhood, but it also helps their confidence so they can handle what life brings them.

🎨 Outdoor Creative Play in the lovely sun 🌞

This morning our preschool children enjoyed a wonderful creative exploration activity outdoors! Using recycled materials, paint, rollers and stampers, the children explored colour, texture and mark-making while developing their imagination and fine motor skills.

Activities like this encourage:
✨ Creativity and self-expression
✨ Problem solving and curiosity
✨ Hand–eye coordination
✨ Confidence through independent exploration

We love turning everyday materials into exciting learning opportunities — the children had so much fun experimenting, painting and creating their own masterpieces!

🌿☀️ Outdoor Explorers in Action! ☀️🌿

Today our preschool children became little scientists, gardeners and nature explorers! 🐛🌱

We mixed natural potions in our mud kitchen themed trays using leaves, sticks and herbs and even did some digging around and planted in the soil, when we discovered a fascinating mini beast during our outdoor investigation! The excitement and curiosity were amazing to see as children asked questions, explored textures, and worked together to investigate the natural world around them.

Outdoor play like this supports:
🌱 Curiosity and early science skills
🪴 Understanding the natural environment
🤲 Sensory exploration and fine motor development
💬 Communication, teamwork and problem solving
😊 Confidence, resilience and imagination

🎨Learning through play, phonics and creativity 🎨

Our children explored early literacy and creativity through a fun ‘a is for apple’ painting activity!

Using paintbrushes, colour, and lots of imagination, the children practised forming the letter a while expressing themselves artistically.

Activities like this support so many areas of development:
✨ Early mark making and pre-writing skills
✨ Letter recognition and phonics awareness
✨ Fine motor development
✨ Communication and language
✨ Confidence, creativity, and self-expression

There was plenty of messy play, laughter, exploration, and proud little artists showing off their work — just how learning should be! ❤️

✨ What an AMAZING week at Preschool! ✨

This week has been full of imagination, creativity and endless fun! Our children have been busy exploring, discovering and learning through play — because play really is the most powerful way young children learn 💛

From building and creating in our construction areas, to imaginative role play adventures, messy sensory experiences, outdoor exploration and creative arts… every activity has supported important learning and development.

Through play we have seen:
🗣️ Fantastic communication and language skills growing
🧩 Brilliant problem solving and independent thinking
🔢 Early mathematics in counting, sorting and measuring
📚 Literacy development through stories, mark making and conversations
🏃 Physical development both indoors and outdoors
🌈 Confidence, friendships and creativity shining every day

Play allows children to explore ideas, express themselves, take risks, and make sense of the world around them — all while having lots of laughter along the way!

We are so proud of the curiosity, imagination and enthusiasm shown by all of our preschoolers this week. Learning truly comes alive when children are free to play, create and imagine ✨

We would like to wish all of our wonderful children and families a very Happy Easter!

Thank you for a fantastic term filled with learning, laughter, creativity, and lots of special moments. We hope you all enjoy a lovely Easter break full of fun, family time, chocolate treats, and hopefully some sunshine! ☀️🐰

✨ Tuff Tray Fun! ✨

Our children have been loving exploring our tuff trays these past few weeks! From messy play to imaginative small world setups, there’s been so much curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning happening 🌈

Messy play has included scooping, pouring, mixing, and getting stuck right in – supporting sensory development, fine motor skills, and lots of giggles along the way! 🖐️💦

Our small world tuff trays have sparked wonderful storytelling and role play, with the children creating their own little worlds, building confidence, language, and social skills as they play together 🦖🏡🚜

We love how tuff trays provide open-ended opportunities for children to explore, investigate, and learn through play at their own pace 💛

✨ Our New Role Play Area ✨

We’re so excited to share our brand new role play area with you! It's still a work in progress but the children have absolutely loved exploring it, using their imaginations and creativity to bring their ideas to life. From cooking in the play kitchen to making important phone calls and acting out real-life situations, it’s been wonderful to watch their confidence and communication skills grow.

Role play is such an important part of learning, helping children develop social skills, language, and teamwork while having lots of fun along the way. The smiles, laughter and wonderful storytelling we’ve seen already show just how much they’re enjoying it! 💛

We can’t wait to see all the different adventures they create in this special space ✨️

Today had a blast with water play using jugs and cups—pouring, filling, and learning through play! 🫧💧

We also got messy with bubble wrap painting—stamping, rolling, and creating colorful textures while strengthening tiny hands and imagination. 🖌️✨

The Magic of World Book Day…

There’s something wonderful about seeing children arrive in their World Book Day costumes - superheroes, animals, villains, princesses, firm favourites and characters you didn’t even know existed.

It’s all part of the fun!

But behind the excitement is something even more special; the stories that shape the children’s confidence, curiosity, and their sense of belonging.

Costumes make the day sparkle, but it’s the books they return to until they are dog-eared, the tales they retell in their play, and the characters they carry in their hearts that make a lasting difference.
