⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

CI Price has an extensive history with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, having completed 16 years of service between 1989 and 1994 and from 2016 to the present day. Having never been a cadet himself, he first found his way into the Corps through a colleague of his father and joined as a Civilian Instructor as soon as he was old enough. During his initial period of service, he spent the majority of his time as a Civilian Instructor, alongside 2 years serving in uniform as an AWO (Warrant Officer RAFAC). CI Price returned to the RAFAC in 2016 as a Civilian Instructor and has continued to support 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron ever since. With a strong personal interest in aviation, he saw joining the Squadron as an ideal opportunity to pass on the knowledge and experience he has gained throughout his own career and involvement in the aviation world. Over the years, CI Price has attended numerous RAF Stations, including RAF Shawbury, RAF Scampton, RAF Halton and RAF Cosford, taking part in teaching courses, Annual Camps and acting as escorting staff for cadets attending Air Experience Flights. He has also undertaken a wide range of roles within the Squadron, including Training Officer, Health and Safety Officer, First Class Training Lead and providing administrative support to the Officer Commanding and Squadron Adjutant. His favourite activity within the RAFAC is supporting Squadron Operations, where he enjoys contributing to the organisation and successful running of Squadron activities. One of his most memorable experiences was the opportunity to fly with a member of the Red Arrows, combining his passion for aviation with one of the most prestigious flying teams in the world. CI Price currently serves as the Squadron Aviation Officer and Communications Officer, continuing to play an important role in supporting the Squadron's activities, training and operational requirements.

The Battle of Britain was a pivotal campaign fought between July and October 1940, when the Royal Air Force defended the United Kingdom against the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War. We remember and commemorate the Battle of Britain to honour the courage, determination and sacrifice of those who served, particularly the pilots and aircrew of Fighter Command who defended our skies and helped secure the freedom of our nation.

Last month, members of 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron, alongside 347 (Dudley), 2488 (Kingswinford), 451 (Stourbridge) and 223 (Halesowen) Squadrons, as well as members of other units including CCF (RAF) contingents, came together in Dudley to commemorate the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The event was organised by the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Dudley Branch, providing an opportunity for cadets and staff to come together, remember those who served and reflect upon the legacy they left behind.

⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

CI Ingram has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets for 8 and a half years, including his time as a cadet. During his cadet service, he progressed through the ranks to Flight Sergeant and gained valuable experience across a wide range of activities. He also served as a Flight Staff Cadet (FSC) at 8 Air Experience Flight, RAF Cosford, where he supported ground operations and assisted with the activities and training of fellow cadets. Having now returned as a Civilian Instructor, CI Ingram continues to use the experience and skills gained throughout his time in the organisation to support the development of cadets at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron. His favourite activity within the RAFAC is Modelling, where he enjoys the practical and creative aspects of the activity. His best experience within the organisation was taking part in the Argus V Fieldcraft Camp, which provided an opportunity to develop practical fieldcraft skills, teamwork and resilience in a challenging environment. CI Ingram is now the lead for the Squadron's Model Aircraft Project, where he oversees and supports cadets in developing their knowledge and practical skills through modelling. He also manages the Squadron's Supply Sections, playing an important role in ensuring the unit has the equipment and resources required to support its activities and training. With 8 and a half years of experience within the RAFAC as both a cadet and member of staff, CI Ingram continues to make a valuable contribution to the Squadron and the development of its cadets.

It’s officially National Cadets Week for the first time ever. A week where all Ministry of Defence sponsored Cadet Forces are celebrated and recognised for the opportunities that we provide for ‘The next generation’. To mark the start of National Cadet Week, King Charles sent his warmest thanks, recognising the young people who take part in the Cadet Forces and their valuable contribution.

⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

CI Williams has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets for 4 and a half years, with 3 of those years spent as a cadet at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron. During his time as a cadet, he progressed to the rank of Corporal and completed a range of qualifications and achievements, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, Classification training, Leadership and First Aid. After completing his cadet service, CI Williams returned to 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron as a Civilian Instructor, where he has now supported the Squadron for 1 and a half years. His favourite activity to take part in and lead is the Squadron’s Engineering Project, where he enjoys supporting cadets in developing practical skills, problem-solving abilities and teamwork through hands-on activities. His best experiences within the RAFAC were completing his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions and attending camps as a cadet, where he had the opportunity to challenge himself, develop new skills and create lasting memories. CI Williams also currently serves as the Squadron’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Officer, where he monitors cadet enrolments onto the DofE scheme and supports and monitors their progression throughout their awards. Having experienced the RAFAC from both sides of the organisation, first as a cadet and now as a member of staff, CI Williams is able to use his own experiences to support and encourage the next generation of cadets at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron.

Meet our Staff ⭐️

CI Brown has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets for 10 and a half years and currently serves as the Squadron Adjutant at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron. Throughout his time with the RAFAC, he has had the opportunity to take part in and support a wide range of activities, gaining valuable experience while helping cadets develop new skills and experiences. As Squadron Adjutant, CI Brown plays an important role in supporting the administration and organisation of the Squadron, helping to ensure that the day-to-day running of the Squadron operates effectively. His favourite activity to take part in and lead within the RAFAC is Lowland Walking, where he particularly enjoys being outdoors while helping cadets develop their navigation, teamwork and resilience as they take on new challenges. He also values the opportunity to step away from the usual routine and enjoy time outdoors as a team. His best experience within the RAFAC has been attending Annual Squadron Camps, where he particularly enjoys seeing the development of cadets throughout the week. Watching cadets who may initially be nervous or unsure of themselves become more independent, confident and willing to take on new challenges is one of the most rewarding aspects of his role. After more than a decade of involvement with the organisation, CI Brown remains proud to support the RAF Air Cadets and looks forward to continuing to contribute to the development of cadets and the wider 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron in the years ahead.

⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

CI Blaze has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets since 2019, initially serving as a cadet until 2022 before leaving to pursue university. During her time as a cadet, she progressed to the rank of Corporal, developing valuable leadership, teamwork and communication skills along the way. In 2025, CI Blaze returned to the RAF Air Cadets as a Civilian Instructor, motivated by a desire to help cadets develop the confidence, skills and experiences that she gained during her own time in the organisation. Since returning as staff, she has played an important role within 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron, including leading the Squadron Catering project and supporting cadets in gaining Food Hygiene Certificates. Her favourite activity within the RAFAC is attending Squadron Camps, having enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people both during her time as a cadet and now as a member of staff. She particularly values the connections and relationships that camps help to build between different sectors and Wings. One of her most memorable experiences within the RAFAC has been taking part in parades, an experience she is looking forward to returning to following her SNCO application. Through her experience as both a cadet and member of staff, CI Blaze continues to contribute to the development of cadets and the wider activities of 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron.

⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

Sgt Hancox RAFAC has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets for 11 years, beginning his service as a cadet at 347 (Dudley) Squadron. During his time as a cadet, he progressed through the rank structure from Corporal and Sergeant, through to Flight Sergeant and ultimately Cadet Warrant Officer, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and personal development throughout his cadet career. He later transferred to 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron, where he continued his cadet service until he timed out of the RAFAC at the age of 20. Following this, Sgt Hancox returned to the organisation as a Civilian Instructor, before taking the next steps to return to uniform and becoming a Sergeant within the RAF Air Cadets. His favourite activity to take part in is Drill Instruction and Practice, where he enjoys developing his own skills while helping others improve their discipline, confidence and understanding of drill. His most memorable experience within the RAFAC was completing the Junior Leaders course as a Cadet Warrant Officer, providing him with an opportunity to develop his leadership, teamwork and resilience at an advanced level. Sgt Hancox is also a Fieldcraft Training Instructor (FTI(R)), allowing him to deliver the RAFAC Blue Fieldcraft Syllabus and assist with the teaching and development of cadets undertaking the higher levels of Fieldcraft training. Through his 11 years of service across both cadet and staff roles, Sgt Hancox has gained a wealth of experience and continues to contribute to the development and training of cadets at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron.

⭐️ Meet our Staff ⭐️

Flt Lt Elwell RAFAC has been involved with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets for an incredible 52 years. His journey began as a cadet, remaining in the organisation until the age of 17, before joining the British Army. Following his time in the Army, he returned to the cadet organisation as a Service Instructor within the Air Training Corps, serving in this role until the age of 21, before becoming a Warrant Officer in the RAF Air Cadets. Since then, he has progressed through the commissioned ranks of Pilot Officer, Flying Officer and ultimately Flight Lieutenant, reflecting his continued dedication and commitment to the organisation throughout his career. During his time in the RAFAC, Flt Lt Elwell has served at 888 (Oldbury) Squadron, 481 (West Bromwich) Squadron and now 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron, gaining an incredible breadth of experience along the way. His favourite activity to take part in is Leadership and Command Tasks, where he enjoys developing leadership, teamwork and decision-making skills. One of his most memorable experiences was taking part in an Outward Bound exercise, providing an opportunity to challenge himself, work as part of a team and develop his leadership abilities in a demanding environment. With over five decades of service and experience, Flt Lt Elwell has made a significant contribution to the RAF Air Cadets and continues to support and develop the next generation of cadets at 2132 (Sedgley) Squadron.
