Please be assured that our team will remain available by telephone and will continue to respond in person to any emergencies or urgent matters as required.

To all of our residents, we encourage you to take extra care during this period of extreme heat. Please stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight where possible, and seek shade or cooler environments throughout the day.

KiP Opens Early 22°C already

🌡️ Temperatures are set to reach 31°C locally… but not everyone can escape the heat.

While many of us enjoy the sunshine, extreme heat can be dangerous and even life-threatening for people sleeping rough. Without shelter, shade, or access to water, the risks of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke increase rapidly.

💛 KiP is open today to help:

✅ Shaded space�✅ Drinking water�✅ A safe place to rest and cool down

🏠 During severe weather, the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) may be activated to provide emergency support and accommodation.

☀️ Hot weather, cool heads ☀️

As temperatures rise this week, open water in Telford Town Park and other lakes, pools and waterways across our Borough can look tempting, but it’s much safer to stay out.

Even on warm days, open water can be dangerous:

⚠️ Cold water shock can happen in seconds
⚠️ Hidden hazards below the surface
⚠️ Strong currents and sudden depth changes

Please choose safer, supervised ways to cool down 💙

If you see someone in trouble in the water, remember the Royal Life Saving Society’s advice:

🛟 Call 999/112 immediately
🛟 Encourage them to float on their back (Float to Live)
🛟 Throw something that floats — don’t go in yourself
