Today our volunteer Chris, who works for Unite Sellafield Branch NW817 received a cheque for £700 from the Branch. Chris secured this money after giving a talk to his colleagues at a meeting about our work. This generous donation follows on from a previously received donation. We are very grateful to Unite Sellafield and Chris for their support!

I always appreciate the chance to meet with Sellafield union reps to update them on my work and pick up any issues.

We had a good chat about the work I'm doing with local partners and central government to bring new nuclear and other developments to Pioneer Park, for which I'm really pleased to have the backing of local nuclear workers.

As we near the end of another year. Our branch continues to support our community and the wider Unite North West and Unite the union members.
We have donated £8500 to local causes. With a further £4800 to other Unite branches strikes and hardship funds.
We thank you all for your support, and wish you all a Merry Christmas and safe and prosperous New year. 🎄🎁

Last of our donations for the year has gone to the Workington community emergency response group. Who supplies Xmas meal packages to families in need. Who are refered to the group. We have donated £500.

We have also donated £500 to "hearts of gold west Cumbria". An received a lovely card which will be added to our office wall.

Good progress today at the Cumberland Nuclear Futures Board, joined by Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and local leaders.

We’re narrowing in on the next phase for Pioneer Park - bringing together new nuclear and AI-led growth to power West Cumbria’s future. Still more work ahead, but real momentum is building. This is how we turn ambition into lasting opportunity for our community.

We held a meeting of our Cumberland Nuclear Future Board at Energus the other day to update local stakeholders on our progress with Pioneer Park.

Thanks to Britain's Energy Coast Business Cluster, GMB Union Sellafield, Unite Sellafield Branch NW817 and Prospect Sellafield Branch for coming along.

Tomorrow I'll be joined by fellow Cumberland MPs, Cumberland Council leader Cllr Mark Fryer and the leaders of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Sellafield Ltd and BEC as we meet with Energy Secretary Ed Miliband to move the project to the next stage. Stay tuned for updates!
