17 weeks ago, we launched our weekly public living room event with the support of Hidden Seaham and Association of Camerados with a mission to create a welcoming, free space for the people of Seaham and surrounding where socialising and connecting with new people was made that little bit easier and it’s been wonderful to see new friendships form and confidence grow in the guests we’ve had join in. ♥️

Anyone and everyone is welcome to pop along for a cuppa, a proper chat and to enjoy the company of likeminded folk. There’s no pressure or agenda, just good old human connection.

This Volunteer Week, we want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible group of volunteers who make it possible. They turn up with welcoming smiles, listening without judgment and building a little community magic every single time. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you so thank you so much! 🙏

Whether you’re a regular, thinking about coming for the first time or just fancy popping in and having a nosey, you’re very welcome. Drop in. Be yourself. Leave feeling a bit lighter.

Just a reminder, it’s our weekly public living room tomorrow at Hidden on the Harbour every Wednesday 10am - 1pm, everyone is welcome, no need to RSVP. Just come along and you will be welcomed with open arms whether you just want to pop along for a quick cuppa or stay the whole morning, give it a try 🛋️☕️

There’s free hot drinks and plenty of biscuits (no calories on Wednesdays to help yourself!) 😉 Most importantly, there’s a group of lovely, friendly people waiting to meet you. Everyone in the public living room is open to chatting to new people and sharing stories. ♥️

Can’t wait to see our lovely Camerados crew tomorrow and hopefully a few new faces too! If it’s your first time, everyone’s super friendly you’ll be welcomed with open arms. ♥️🫂

Drop in anytime between 10am and 1pm, grab a comfy seat and help yourself to free brews and biscuits. Everyone’s there for the same thing: a bit of company, a chat and some new connections.

It’s all really chilled, nothing formal, just a cosy space to feel at home and meet people in the community 🤝🛋️

If you’re popping along solo and feel a bit nervous, don’t worry. You’ll get a warm welcome, a hot drink and you can join in with games, puzzles or just have a natter. Stay for ten minutes or the whole morning - totally up to you. ☕️

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week! 🧠💚

It’s the perfect opportunity to reach out, meet new people or help others if you’re in a position to do so.

That’s the mission of our weekly Public Living Room, a free, welcoming space where anyone can drop in and just… be human for a while. No pressure, no appointments and no judgment. Just free biscuits, hot drinks and friendly faces! ☕️🍪

Whether you want to chat with someone who’ll genuinely listen or you just need a quiet place to be around kind people, you’re welcome! Some folks come to talk, others come to listen and plenty come just to relax and feel less alone.

Everyone is welcome every Wednesday between 10am - 1pm at Hidden on the harbour, Seaham, SR7 7EU ⏰

Sometimes the smallest things, like being in a room where people care; make the biggest difference.

Hey everyone 👋
Hope you had a restful bank holiday weekend. If you’re looking to expand your social circle and meet new people, pop into our weekly public living room at Hidden on the Harbour every Wednesday between 10am - 1pm.

It’s a friendly space with likeminded, local people who are all looking for a little more connection and company! So it removes the usual barrier of striking up a conversation with a stranger as everyone is looking for the same thing 💛

It’s completely free to attend with free hot drinks and biscuits, help yourself to whatever you like and make yourself comfortable. Someone will come and say hello if you don’t feel confident making the first move. ☕️🍪

Whether you pop in for 10 minutes or stay the entire morning, everyone’s welcome to come along even if you’re somebody who can spare some time and would like to volunteer, it could make the world of difference to someone else in the community having someone available to listen to them 👂🏼🛋️

Excellent news! 🗣️🚨
To compliment our weekly public living room event, we’re now looking to partner with local artisans and makers to deliver community skills and creative workshops 🤝

We’re really keen to hear from community minded organisations and individuals who would be interested in collaborating to put on a range of workshops and increasing the confidence and socialisation opportunities for the people of Seaham and surrounding.

Our public living room event is every Wednesday which could work alongside the workshops or be on alternative days.

If you know anyone who may be a good fit, please do tag them below or suggest ideas for activities you would like to take part in! 💡🧶🧵✍️

Today was magic ✨
We welcomed a lot of new faces and it’s lovely to see our public living room growing! Don’t worry, we’re going to get some more seating & cups!
