๐ŸŒŸ Pride in Place Seacombe โ€“ Community Board Update ๐ŸŒŸ

This Friday, we'll be meeting to discuss the Community Board and the next steps for Pride in Place Seacombe.

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who applied. We have been genuinely overwhelmed by the quality, passion and commitment shown in the applications. There are so many incredible people who care deeply about Seacombe and want to play a part in shaping its future.

As we move forward, our aim is to keep the Board community-focused and resident-led. We want local people at the heart of decision-making, while also making sure we can draw on the skills, knowledge and support of local organisations and services.

One of the ideas we're exploring is creating themed community groups that can feed directly into the Board. These could include:

๐ŸŒณ Environment & Green Spaces
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Youth & Families
๐Ÿ’š Health & Wellbeing
โ›ช Faith & Community Connections
๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Housing & Regeneration
๐Ÿค Inclusion & Community Support

This would allow many more people, groups and organisations to get involved, share ideas and help shape projects, even if they are not formal Board members.

Pride in Place is about bringing communities together. The Board is just one part of that. Real change happens when residents, volunteers, community groups, local services, businesses, schools, faith organisations and partners all work together towards a shared vision for Seacombe.

We're excited about the journey ahead and look forward to sharing more updates soon.

๐ŸŒŸ SEACOMBE PRIDE IN PLACE โ€“ HAVE YOUR SAY! ๐ŸŒŸ

We're continuing our community conversations and would love to hear from even more local people before decisions are made about the future of Seacombe.

๐Ÿ“ Monday 8th June | 10am โ€“ 7pm
Wirral Carers Conference

๐Ÿ“ Tuesday 17th June | 10am โ€“ 6pm
Soccer Dome

We're asking local residents, workers, visitors and community groups:

๐Ÿ’š What do you love about Seacombe?
๐Ÿก What changes have you seen over the years?
โœจ If you could make one positive change to the area, what would it be?
๐ŸŒณ What would make Seacombe an even better place to live, work and visit?

Over the past few weeks, more than 80 people have already shared their ideas, with priorities including cleaner streets, safer walking routes, better parks and green spaces, more activities for young people, stronger community support, and improvements to local shops and housing.

This is your opportunity to help shape the future of Seacombe. The more people who take part, the stronger the voice of our community will be when priorities and future projects are agreed.

๐Ÿ“ข Can't make either event?

You can pop into D Hub 67 at any time to add your ideas, comments and suggestions. We want to hear from as many people as possible because this funding is about investing in the things that matter most to YOU and your community.

๐Ÿ’™ Your Community.
๐Ÿ’š Your Voice.
๐Ÿ’™ Your Future.

"The more voices we hear, the better the decisions we can make together."

๐ŸŒฟ ALLEYWAYS, FLY TIPPING & COMMUNITY PRIDE ๐ŸŒฟ

One of the issues coming up time and time again through Pride in Place Seacombe conversations is the condition of some of our alleyways and shared spaces.

Residents have told us about:
๐Ÿงน Fly tipping
๐Ÿšฎ Litter
๐ŸŒฑ Overgrown areas
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Spaces that feel unsafe or neglected

As we continue gathering community priorities, we'd love to hear from residents affected by these issues.

๐Ÿ“ธ Send us photos of alleyways or shared spaces that need attention.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Tell us:
โ€ข Where is it?
โ€ข How does it affect you and your neighbours?
โ€ข What improvements would you like to see?
โ€ข How would a cleaner, safer space benefit your community?

We're particularly interested in identifying a potential pilot alleyway that could help demonstrate the positive impact community-led improvements can have.

All feedback will help inform future discussions and priorities for the Seacombe Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.

Your community. Your voice. Your future. ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒŸ Thank You, Seacombe! ๐ŸŒŸ

Over the past few Pride in Place Seacombe events, we have spoken with dozens of local residents, community groups, organisations and partners, and we're delighted to say that around 80 people have now shared their ideas and priorities for Seacombe's future.

The messages coming through are clear:

๐ŸŒณ Better parks, green spaces and outdoor activities
๐Ÿงน Cleaner streets and action on fly tipping
๐Ÿšธ Safer roads, crossings and improved lighting
๐Ÿ‘ง More activities, opportunities and safe spaces for young people
๐Ÿค Stronger community support, inclusion and volunteering opportunities
๐Ÿ  Improvements to housing, wellbeing and tackling empty properties
๐Ÿช A thriving high street with more local shops and fewer empty units

We've also heard some fantastic ideas including community clean-up days, community gardens, food-growing spaces, tree planting, creative activities, green skills projects, improved play areas, safer walking routes and more opportunities for local people to connect and get involved.

This is exactly what Pride in Place is about โ€“ local people shaping the future of their own neighbourhood.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to stop, chat, write down their ideas and share their experiences. Every comment, suggestion and conversation helps build a stronger case for positive change in Seacombe.

We're only just getting started. The next step is to bring these priorities together and continue working with residents, local organisations and partners to turn ideas into action.

๐Ÿ’š Together we can create a cleaner, greener, safer and more connected Seacombe.

What a fantastic Pride in Place event today at D Hub 67! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

We were delighted to welcome local residents, community organisations, councillors, representatives from the local CVS sector, Angela Eagle MP, Gareth from Wirral CVS, Liam Robinson from Birkenhead Pride in Place, and our special guest, Sir Peter Oliver OBE.

Sir Peter spoke about the importance of community-led change and the support, opportunities and partnerships available through the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. It was encouraging to hear how organisations can work together to help communities thrive.

Most importantly, we gathered some really valuable feedback from local people about what matters most to them in Seacombe. From parks and green spaces to community safety, wellbeing and local pride, every conversation helps build a clearer picture of the future our community wants to see.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, shared their ideas, asked questions and got involved.
