Our volunteers were tasked by HM Coastguard following reports of a dog and its owner in difficulty in the water at Sea Palling.

Fortunately, both the dog and owner were able to self-recover safely before our launch, and our crew were stood down upon arrival at the station.

If you see anyone in difficulty in the water, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Sea Palling Independent Lifeboat tasked by HM Coastguard to assist Norfolk Police with a vunerable person.

Our volunteer crew launched the Arancia Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) and commenced a shoreline search of the Sea Palling coastline.

Thankfully, the casualty was located and recovered safely by Norfolk Police. Following confirmation from HM Coastguard, our crew was stood down at 19:35 and returned to station.

What a day! Where do we start?

A hugely fun-packed and successful day was had by all, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make it possible.

A massive thank you to our volunteers, friends, families, supporters, sponsors, and of course all of our visitors who came along and joined us throughout the day.

We are incredibly grateful to our local businesses for their generosity in providing such fantastic raffle prizes, helping us raise vital funds for the station.

Thank you also to Happisburgh RNLI for joining us with the boat displays, the Norfolk Scouts ICE team, and to the amazing Newfoundland Rescue Dogs, who were as popular as ever!

Tasked by HM Coastguard to conduct a shoreline search of the bays at Sea Palling for a person reported missing.

Both our Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) were launched to assist in the multi-agency search operation.
At 01:30 both boats were stood down by HM Coastguard after the missing person was located safe and well.

The boats were washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.

Our Volunteers left the station at 02:30
We are pleased to report a positive outcome and would like to thank all agencies involved for their assistance and cooperation throughout the search.

Tasked by HM Coastguard to assist the RNLI Lifeguards following reports of three swimmers caught in a rip current at Sea Palling.

Our crew responded and prepared to launch in support. The incident was quickly brought under control by the lifeguards, and all three swimmers were safely returned ashore.

The lifeboat was stood down by HM Coastguard at 17:09 with no further assistance required.

Rip currents can be difficult to spot and can quickly carry even strong swimmers away from the shore. If you find yourself caught in a rip current, remain calm, float if necessary, and swim parallel to the beach until you are clear of the current before heading back to shore.

If you see anyone in difficulty in the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Unfortunately we didn’t capture the lightning whilst at sea on our recent training exercise, but we did capture a rather lovely sunset

Paged 14:20 – 2 Persons in Water

Our crew were paged at 14:20 whilst preparing for service to reports of two persons in the water.

Our ILB was immediately launched to assist RNLI Lifeguards already on scene. The casualties were safely returned to shore in good spirits.

Whilst on scene, the ILB was diverted to assist a young male in an inflatable ring who was being blown offshore. The casualty was safely returned to shore and reunited with his family.

A busy afternoon for the crew, with a positive outcome for all involved.
