During a recent training session at the station, it became apparent that these four gentlemen were only minutes away from being cut off by the rapidly rising tide.
Our crew made contact with HM Coastguard and self-tasked to assist the group, safely escorting them back to the beach before they became stranded.
The group were very grateful for the assistance, if a little embarrassed, and were pleased to be able to continue enjoying their dinner further up the beach!
The reefs at Sea Palling are fascinating features to explore and enjoy from a safe distance. However, for your safety, we remind everyone not to climb on the reefs and to always be aware of local tide times and conditions.
If you ever spot someone in difficulty at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
