Its that time of year as league phase ends and tournaments come about. Below is a tournament report from one of our coaches, Shane, who's U10 Broncos represented Shire Colts last weekend!
Shire colts U10 Broncos, Sunday 10th may saw shire colts U10 Broncos arrive at their first tournament of 2026, the anticipation was high for boys along with the excitement. The tournament started with a group phase: 8 teams from across Bristol and North Somerset. U10's first game was met with a little nervousness playing against Avon athletic losing the game 3-1. After some tactical change and advice from coaches to players we went into our second match with high hopes against a strong Clevedon united team the boys came out victorious winning 2-0. Game 3 saw them up against Worle juniors but with great energy from Shire colts again we came out victorious winning game 3 5-0 some great football in show high intensity and belief shire colts were truly on a roll. Game 4 we played are local rivals cotham tigers again being victorious and winning 4-1. Next up was Sporting Weston shire colts were on a winning run and we're not looking to be stopped 4-1 victors. Games 6 & 7 were against the top 2 in the group being NSSF blue and Cinderford town both teams beating us 3 and 4 nil. Shire colts finishing 4th in the group saw proceed to Plate semi final. After a short rest period the boys had regrouped and were fired up, a hard fought battle saw the game end level Vs NSSF Yellow 0-0 and on to penalties. Both teams held their nerves for what was and battle of the sharp shooters, and shire colts were in the final after winning on penalties. Cue the celebrations ....... The Plate final kicked off at 17:45 shire colts Vs Avon athletic, the game ended 3-0 to Avon and shire colts were runners up for the first time.
