Carer’s Guide to Caring – Support Session

Are you caring for a family member, friend or loved one? Or perhaps you’re new to caring and would like some advice and support?

Join us for our Carer’s Guide to Caring session, where we’ll explore practical guidance, helpful information and support to help you on your caring journey.

During the session, we will cover:
Understanding your role as a carer
Practical tips and advice for everyday caring
Knowing where to find help, support and useful resources
Looking after your own health and wellbeing
Carers Rights, including financially and for those Carers who work

Whether you’re a new carer or have been caring for some time, this session is an opportunity to learn, ask questions and discover the support available to you.

Remember, you matter too! Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. You don’t have to do it alone.

Do you remember those 1970s evenings when Superstars came on and the whole family ended up watching famous sportsmen struggle at events completely outside their comfort zone?

First shown by the BBC in 1973, Superstars brought together top sportsmen from different disciplines and asked them to compete against each other in a range of events.

Presented by David Vine, the programme became compulsive viewing as footballers, athletes, boxers and other sporting stars tried their hand at running, swimming, cycling, weightlifting and the dreaded gym tests.

Part of the fun was seeing a sporting hero who looked unbeatable in his own field suddenly struggling with something completely different.

It was simple television, but wonderfully competitive, and the sight of exhausted sports stars giving everything they had made it strangely addictive.

I remember people being shocked at how fit James Hunt was when all he did was "sit in a car" and made them realise just how fit you had to be to drive in F1.

We are delighted to welcome Louise Johnson from Age UK, who will be joining us to talk about the services and support that Age UK provides. Louise will also be delivering a presentation on scams and fraud awareness, offering practical tips to help keep us safe. It's a topic that affects so many people, and we're sure you'll find it both interesting and useful.
