Red Tent Women's Group

Red Tent Women's Group Monthly Women's group based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. Typically hosted on the 3rd Thursday of the month 7pm until 10pm.

Usually we hold a crafting session and have a meal, free of charge but we ask for a donation of up to £5 to cover costs. One day at the Cafe, all the female volunteers were round a table drinking some coffee. This was pretty rare as we usually have at least one of the lovely Indie men with us. We had some amazing conversations based on the true value and beauty of women. A story was shared about a

book called The Red Tent.. a story based upon sisterhood, set in Biblical times. Women would spend their lives looking after the tribe; the men, children, babies and elders.. but once a month round menstruation, the women would enter the Red Tent; a space purely for them - where they looked after, supported and enjoyed the company of their own gender. This was a space for all ages, the wisdom of the older women combined with the energy and innocence of the younger females created something supportive and beautiful. So we decided we would like to create a Red Tent for you - A night to indulge and relax with women...with some usual Indie delights! Every 3rd Thursday of the Month (Subject to Change)
