A win-win for Scropton RDA

Volunteer Steve helped us out by building a smaller stable door for our smallest pony Diesel. This meant Diesel could see out his stable and visitors and riders could see him too!

Steve used steel supplies from FH Brundle for the door frame and when they heard what he’d used the materials for they very generously donated £50 to Scropton Riding for the Disabled.

So now Diesel has a stable with a view and we have a bit more funding to support the work we do.

Huge thanks to the multi-talented Steve and FH Brundle!

Turn your unwanted items into cash at our next Equine Car Boot Sale on Friday 3rd July at 6.30pm. Pitches are available at the early bird price of only £9.50 until Friday 26th June, after this £13 per pitch.

This is a regular and very popular sale every few months on a Friday evening, established over the last 10 years - if you haven't been before it's well worth a visit!

Come and have a go at Showjumping tomorrow
We're running another ‘Have a go’ Showjumping sessions co-hosted by Helena Yates Equestrian Coaching & Care Sunday 14/6 from 10am
This is a no-pressure, non-competitive confidence building session designed for anyone who’d like to gain more experience of show jumping in a friendly, relaxed environment. The session is open to adults & children, horses & ponies with classes from ground poles to 50cm.
Everyone is guaranteed a full round of show jumping and every rider will get a rosette so coma and join in the summer fun!

We’ve just had a busy few weeks of RDA Regional Competitions in Dressage, Show Jumping and the Countryside Challenge and our riders have done brilliantly with 11 qualifying to go on to the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Championships.

However, we couldn't have done it without our amazing horses, four of who will now be part of our National Championships team. Jess, Bella, Duke and Scrappy will all be travelling to this prestigious event in July, hoping to partner their riders to red rosettes.

The amazing thing is that none of these horses have been with us for more than a year. Jess, Duke & Scrappy were bought for Scropton Riding for the Disabled through donations and fundraising and Bella was bought with a grant from the Severn Trent Community Fund. We have so many generous people to thank for supporting us to strengthen our horse team, and thanks too to Exclusivia Equine Agentsclusivia for helping us to find Duke and Scrappy.

Jess, Bella, Duke and Scrappy all work in sessions at our centre, helping with therapeutic sessions and beginner riders as well as stepping up for more capable riders and competitions – they really are amazing horses!

As National Volunteers Week 2026 comes to an end, we want to send the biggest possible THANK YOU to the wonderful volunteer team here at Scropton Riding for the Disabled.

To our regular volunteers, our trustees, our younger Stable Club helpers, our event volunteers, our staff who give extra hours, and the families who support us — thank you, every one of you.
