Say hey to Olivia πŸ‘‡

Hi, I'm Olivia! I am passionate about supporting individuals with SEND to reach their full potential, develop new skills, and build independence. My experience as a Senior Healthcare Worker and parent to two children with SEND inspired me to pursue a
career as an Advanced Teaching Assistant.

Working at NDC has helped me build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for my future role in education. Outside of
work, you'll usually find me studying, hiking, exploring with my family, or enjoying a good series on Prime, if I’m lucky!

I live in Colburn with my partner, our two children, and our cat, Blizzard β€” don't ask!

Raising two children with SEND has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of overcoming challenges and celebrating every success.

My partner and I have been together for 15 years and are looking forward to getting married in the future. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, exploring the countryside, and sharing our passion for nature and wildlife.

I love my role at NDC because I get to support children in building confidence, friendships, and social and emotional resilience. Seeing young people overcome challenges and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding, and the experience I gain at NDC continues to strengthen my passion for becoming a Teaching Assistant.

Say hello to Louise πŸ‘‡

Hi! I’m Louise, the NDC Volunteer and Wellbeing Lead.I have lived in Windsor for just over a year. During this time, I have watched Lesley and Kirsty grow NDC with true passion. Great things are happening right on your doorstep! We need your help to reach and support even more families, so please join our activities or volunteer.

Sadly, I am leaving Windsor soon. However, I will still host online sessions after the summer and return for group events!

My Wellbeing Background
I am the Wellbeing Lead because I love helping people feel their best.

My journey includes:
Fitness: Working as a Level 2 fitness instructor since 2001
Hypnotherapy: Training in 2013 to help people build confidence and clear mindset blocks
Mindfulness & Energy: Training as a teacher with the Mindfulness Association since 2023, alongside energy healing and intuition coaching.

My Life and Family
My late diagnosis of ADHD at age 43 changed my life. Daily mindfulness, exercise, and nutrition help me navigate this journey with self-compassion. This is why NDC is so special to meβ€”everyone needs a supportive community!

Outside of work, I love walking among trees, reading books, and exploring my creativity.

My family is my world:
My Husband, Jady: A Senior Army Welfare Worker (WO2 in AWS) who has served for 27 years. We have moved 11 times, including amazing postings in Cyprus and Brunei!
Our Daughter, Rosie (7): Our IVF miracle after 14 years of marriage. Rosie is bilaterally deaf and wears hearing aids. Together, we are learning British Sign Language (BSL). She loves music and wants to play guitar just like her hero, Taylor Swift!

Thank you to NDC for everything, and I hope to see you at a community event soon!

🌈 Your journey with NeuroDiverse Community CIC 🌈
Supporting you before, during and after diagnosis.

At NeuroDiverse Community CIC, we support children, young people, adults, families, siblings, carers, professionals and communities. Whether you are just beginning to explore neurodiversity, waiting for an assessment, newly diagnosed, late diagnosed, or supporting someone you love, we are here for you.

Our support is for both civilian families and Armed Forces families, including serving personnel, veterans, spouses, partners, children and wider military-connected families.

We provide a wide range of support, including:

🧑 Sensory Explorers – inclusive sensory-based group sessions for children to explore, play, regulate, communicate and build confidence in a safe environment.

πŸ’› YouthAbility – youth sessions for young people to connect, build friendships, develop confidence, take part in activities and have a space where they can truly be themselves.

πŸ’š YouthAbility Young Leaders – supporting young people to develop leadership skills, confidence, volunteering experience and a stronger voice in their community.

πŸ’™ EmployAbility – supporting neurodivergent and disabled people with confidence, skills, volunteering, work readiness and pathways into employment.

πŸ’œ Adult and Late Diagnosis Support – creating safe spaces for adults to feel heard, understood and supported, whether they are diagnosed, self-identifying, awaiting assessment or supporting family members.

🌿 Eco Forces Windsor – outdoor, nature-based and environmental activities supporting wellbeing, confidence, sensory regulation and connection with the natural world.

We also support families with SEND guidance, EHCP advice, inclusive communication, wellbeing support, advocacy, signposting, workshops, community activities, volunteering opportunities and peer support.

Our group sessions are designed to be inclusive, low-pressure, neurodiversity-affirming and accessible. We understand that every person’s journey is different, and our aim is to create spaces where people feel accepted, valued and supported without judgement.

Say hello to Kirsty πŸ‘‡

Hiya πŸ‘‹ I'm Kirsty, also known as the Chaotic Community Cryptid. I'm tiny but mighty and a nature-loving, crystal collecting, animal crazy, music obsessed bookworm. I'm late-diagnosed ADHD combined and I have FND with Dissociative Non-Epileptic Seizures and C-PTSD. One of my special skills is never shutting up πŸ˜‚ I'm an Army wife and SEND Mom, as well as a passionate BSL ally and disability advocate. I love being silly and having a good laugh, as well as being surrounded by nature and giving all the cuddles to my 3 cats and dog - all of whom are rescues! My favourite thing to do is learn! I did my BA in Drama and Performance Studies, and English; and I've not stopped learning since 😁

I have one child, my daughter Harper, who is my entire universe. Harper is diagnosed Autistic PDA, Hyperlexia, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Restricted Eating Habits and Disrupted Sleeping Patterns. She is also a High Learning Potential (Twice Exceptional/2E) child with a wicked sense of humour, topped with a sprinkling of mischief. Harper is a force to be reckoned with and I am so incredibly proud of her. She teaches me so much every day and I am so grateful to be her Mom. She is the reason behind everything I do and why I fight so hard to make the world a better, more inclusive place ❀️

I married my High School sweetheart, Dean, who I met many many moons ago back in South Africa where we grew up. Dean followed his dream of becoming a Soldier and after I finished university, I followed him to the UK too. We have been through so much from navigating our teenage years, to many years of having a long distance relationship, to getting married, to having a legend of a child and filling up our home with pets - sorry not sorry πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

I'm currently the Deputy CEO at NDC, heading up the Windsor Hub. Although I can sometimes clock more than 40hrs a week (long nights and early mornings), I absolutely LOVE my job. I get to support and fight for the rights of SEND children and young people, as well as help to grow and support the Armed Forces community, and foster love and responsibility for our local environment and wildlife.

In my life, I live by the philosophy of two things:
"Always fight for those without your privilege" and "don't wait to be invited to the table, bring your own chair and make a space" 🀟

🌟 NeuroDiverse Community CIC Windsor Forces proudly supports Windsor Horse Rangers 🌟

We are so proud to support the amazing work of Windsor Horse Rangers and the difference they make within our community. Horses have a truly special way of connecting with people β€” they are calm, patient, non-judgemental and incredibly intuitive.

Equine therapy and horse-based activities can be especially beneficial for neurodiverse individuals. Being around horses can support emotional regulation, confidence, communication, coordination, sensory processing and self-esteem. For many neurodivergent and disabled people, horses offer a safe and gentle connection without pressure, expectation or overwhelming social demands.

Horses respond to body language, tone, energy and trust. They do not judge, rush or question β€” they simply meet people where they are. That is what makes them so powerful for individuals who may find traditional environments challenging.

Windsor Horse Rangers provide such a valuable, inclusive and meaningful opportunity for people to learn, grow, build confidence and experience the incredible bond between humans and horses.

We are proud to stand alongside and support such an amazing organisation. πŸ΄πŸ’š

Meet the lovely Tanya πŸ‘‡

Hi, I am Tanya, wife, mother and Gannie.
I have 2 children. My son lives with his girlfriend and her son back in South Africa. My daughter, son in law (in the armed forces) and their daughter live in Windsor. All these family members are special and precious to me.

We (hubby and I) left South Africa in October 2021 to start a new life here in the UK. My hubby is amazing and my rock, we have been together for 25 years.

My passion and hobbies are: helping others in the community, I run the Wellness Wednesdays exercise sessions, I also love to create items with my hands using knitting, crocheting and sewing.

I am the finance administrator and secretary for NDC and am very proud and honoured to be a member of this incredible team, for the values and goals it aims to achieve in helping others in the NeuroDiverse community.

🌟 NDC Windsor Forces Sensory Explorers 🌟

Today our Sensory Explorers had a brilliant session full of creativity, communication, sensory play and teamwork. The children explored arts and crafts, imaginative play, playdough, drawing, games and calm sensory activities in a relaxed and inclusive space.

We also continued learning British Sign Language, practising the signs for:

✨ β€œHow are you?”
✨ β€œGood”
✨ β€œSad”
✨ β€œTired”

The group had a lovely discussion about volunteering β€” what it means to be a volunteer, the different things people can volunteer to do, and the traits that make a good volunteer, such as kindness, patience, helpfulness, listening, teamwork and caring about others. Charmaine led the children in role playing volunteer roles.

It was wonderful to see the children sharing ideas, supporting each other, taking turns, communicating in different ways and building confidence through play. πŸ’›

A huge well done to all our Sensory Explorers today β€” you were amazing! 🌈

Say hello to Anneka πŸ‘‡

Hi, my name is Anneka and I'm a mother to three wonderful daughters who keep me on my toes; they range from 8,13 and 18 years old.

I am also a proud wife to a serving soldier who is currently at his 21 year point in the army. We have been married for 15 years, during which I have followed him from London to Essex and back to Windsor.

During my adulting life I have worked in may different industries, from hospitality to delivering high end security courses as well as medical courses, to be sitting ring side at may boxing mma and bkb fights carrying medical working keeping fighters safe, to teaching health and social care all over the south east delivering training to network rail the NHS and may more. I then turned to teaching in a middle school and just fell in love with supporting young people to be their best.

From there, I began working in a private school that dealt with trauma, behaviour, and neuro-spicy children. I now find myself working with Home-Start, supporting families with children aged 0-5 years as well as working alongside Kirsty and Lesley in the daily running of NDC Windsor. When I'm not there you can find me supporting one of our volunteers, Charmaine, with her Rascals dance and singing classes, where I use my skills in an admin role, ensuring all children are taking part and enjoying themselves.

Over the years, I also volunteered with the Army Cadet Force for over ten years and only recently left.

In my spare time you will either find me with a paintbrush in my hand or even my hair, as I love to paint and create wonderful pieces of art. I'm also studying at the Open Uni to gain my business and management degree.

I still find time to drive my 13 year old around to all her football commitments throughout the week and only see my husband on the weekends. My family is the reason I do everything I do. As someone with many neurodiversity diagnoses, I want to be the best role model not only to my children but also to everyone, showing strength and resilience and proving that nothing can stop you from overcoming what's in front of you.

Sometimes you have to walk around the mountain to find your path to the top.
