If you’ve been tuned in to our socials for the past couple of months, you’ll know of how we’ve been trying to transform the Community Centre to being more community friendly.

Our back garden, despite sporting a rather well kept lawn, was a completely unused space; so we decided to put our focus into trying to transform it. Unfortunately, (with us being a registered charity with limited income) this was something well out of our budget and something we could have only dreamed of…

A month ago, we had a visit from the Funding Fairy at NYCC who acknowledged our ambition and granted us funds in order to fulfil our wish (courtesy of the South Scarborough Grant).

The brief comprised mainly of…

Enclosed fencing so that children can explore the garden without the risk of running astray ✅
An outdoor shed area to store basic gardening equipment and children’s outdoor toys ✅
A gazebo so that visitors can rest without the worry of unpredictable weather conditions ✅

We present to you The Crossgates Community Centre Rear Garden… all are welcome to come for a nosy, no booking necessary!

Cake and brews… oh, go on then!

🥳

🍀 feeling lucky!! 🍀
