Enjoy a spectacular programme including colourful military parades, live bands, drill team performances, stands, family entertainment and of course incredible air displays taking place throughout the day.

The the legendary Naval Warfare show returns for the 2026 season at 3pm on Saturday 27 June.

The Peasholm Park lake will transform into a dramatic battle zone as 20-foot replica warships recreate a thrilling sea battle, complete with explosions, smoke, and sound effects.

Perfect for all ages, this unique event brings history to life with captivating storytelling.

Discover Scarborough’s story in a whole new way with the Giant Deckchair Trail.

Launching on Scarborough Armed Forces Day, ten oversized deckchairs will be placed at key locations across Scarborough, from the train station through the town centre and along the North and South Bay.

Each deckchair interprets a different chapter of Scarborough’s 400‑year history, including the discovery of the spa waters and the arrival of the railway. The trail encourages exploration of the town and offers a family‑friendly way to explore Scarborough’s story.

Scarborough Armed Forces Day takes place from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 27 June at Scarborough’s South Bay.

Scarborough Sea Cadet Band will perform at Scarborough Armed Forces Day.

The cadets are aged 10 and over. With some only recently picking up an instrument, they now proudly represent their town and Corps on parade.

They’ve led other major local events, including Scarborough’s Remembrance Parade and last year’s Armed Forces Day.

One of their own, Petty Officer Bugler Nathan Davies, now serves with the Royal Marines Band Service, having begun his musical journey in Scarborough.

We're honoured to be welcoming Sea Cadets from Geel in Belgian to Scarborough Armed Forces Day.

The connection began in 2018, when Scarborough Sea Cadets travelled to Geel to take part in their annual 11 November commemorations.

This will be Geel Sea Cadets first visit to Scarborough.

Heroes Welcome is a grassroots initiative that began in Scarborough in 2008, bringing communities together to celebrate and support our Armed Forces and their families.

At its heart, the initiative shines a spotlight on the dedication and sacrifice of service personnel and their families, offering a visible appreciation.

To mark the occasion, a special Armed Forces Resort Discount Pack will be available, packed with fantastic local offers, traditional sticks of Scarborough rock, and complimentary ice creams for all children of service families

Visitors can collect their discount packs on Armed Forces Day from the Heroes Welcome stand, conveniently located opposite the lifeboat station on Scarborough’s South Bay.

Scarborough Armed Forces Day 2026 takes place in a landmark year, as Scarborough celebrates the 400th anniversary of becoming a spa town.

A programme of events, including exhibitions, culture and art displays, family entertainment and community trails, will take place, with Scarborough Armed Forces Day forming part of the Scarborough 400 calendar.

Having taken place annually for nearly 20 years, the event has drawn residents and tourists year after year, and this year promises to be no different.

The Yorkshire Volunteers Band will be performing at Scarborough Armed Forces Day sponsored by Skipton Building Society.

They'll take part in the opening of the event as well as performing in the closing ceremony, ending with the National Anthem.

The Yorkshire Volunteers Band can trace its history back to 1860. Today the band forms part of the Yorkshire Volunteers Regimental Association, performing throughout the UK and Europe in both concert and marching band formations.

The band has become an irreplaceable highlight of Scarborough Armed Forces Day, having supported every one of our annual events.

Royal British Legion Scarborough Branch are holding a Gala dinner on Friday 26 June - the evening before Armed Forces Day.

Join them at the iconic Scarborough Spa for a 3 course set menu.

Entertainment will include the Corps of Drums of the Scarborough Sea Cadets, alongside traditional piping evocative of the Sharpe’s Rifles era, performed by Philip Woods of the Yorkshire Corps of Drums.
