On the up!
SPR U15s put the disappointment of back-to-back narrow defeats behind them, with a superbly disciplined and tactical performance to win 3-0 at Copmanthorpe today.
Moving into a more balanced 4-man backline, we asked the team to execute a simple game plan: be safe, solid and compact, reaching half-time 0-0 after Sam rattled the post from 20 yards.
The squad followed the tactical blueprint into the second-half, playing more expansively and forcing a string of corners.
From one of these, Bailey was teed up 20 yards from goal and placed it fiercely with the inside of his right foot for 1-0, his first competitive goal for the club.
Minutes later, SPR had made it 2, Jack T scoring from close range after another corner.
SPR really turned the screw with a brilliant individual goal from Carlos for 3-0.
POM was Lou Shannon for a calm, composed & confident performance at centre back.
