🎶 A huge thank you to Scarborough Community Choir for their incredibly generous donation to 42nd Scarborough Scout Group!

We were delighted to receive their support, which will help us continue providing exciting adventures, skills for life, and opportunities for young people in our community.

Community support like this makes a real difference, and we’re very grateful that Scarborough Community Choir chose to support our group.

🎶 Giving back to our community 🎶

Scarborough Community Choir were delighted to hand over a cheque for £1,185.00 to the 42nd Scarborough St. Mark’s Scout Group.

This fantastic amount was raised through our recent fundraising efforts, and we’re so pleased to support such a worthwhile local group who do so much for young people in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make this possible — together we can make a real difference! ❤️👏

Falcon Beavers - last night we started our money badge we all visted our tuck shop with our 50p and worked out what we could buy and how much we had left

We put coins in the order they go in and then adults turned them over and removed one and the beavers had to guess which one had gone

Then Emma and Sam our parent helpers had made a pipe shop and all the lodges had paper money and puzzle on a piece of paper and how many pieces of pipe they need and had to work out how much it cost

Final bit was design a new coin so much fun

Kestrel Scouts went on a bike ride last night organised by one of our Young Leaders.
We rode from the scout hut along the Cinder Track out to Cloughton Station.
The Young Leaders had set up a base at Burniston where we had a treat of toasted marshmallows and s'mores before setting off back!
Perfect weather and a great evening enjoyed by all!

Tonight the Cubs went out looking for some of the Blue Plaques which are part of Scarborough Heritage Trail.
They finished on the beach for ice cream and investitures. 🍦
Steven invested Rama (David) into Eagles as a new Leader. Rama then invested 5 new Cubs, Bethany, Leo E, Jack, Winter and Lakeland. Welcome to Eagles Cubs everyone!

Well done to Leo W, Joey S and James B who were promoted to Sixers this evening. And another well done to Hollie, Henry and Jack C who were make Seconders! Great work everyone 👏

Falcon Beavers - Last night we started our emergency aid LvL 1 we had Rob Marsh come in a explain everything and they even had to practice putting each other in the recovery position thanks Rob for coming into and running the evening for us

Friday was our AGM when we celebrated the amazing enthusiasm and fantastic work that our volunteers do across our Group! 👏
The Kestrel Scouts have won the Scarborough & District Falcon Trophy for the 2nd year running which is a superb reward for the hard work and effort that the Scouts and leaders put in! 🌟🏆

After the AGM Kestrels enjoyed some games of rounders, tag rugby and stuck in the mud!

42nd Squirrels have had a busy few weeks recently. With a walk along to the Sea Life Centre with an ice lolly on the way back, crafts and an evening testing their senses. 👁️ 👃 👂 🤚 👅
We also welcomed several new squirrels 🐿️ 🐿️ and said goodbye to 4 of our older squirrels that are moving on to Beavers. 🦫 🙋‍♂️

Tonight our Cubs took part in a series of fun Sports Day races, with the added challenge of getting their grown-ups involved too! From running races to family team events, there was plenty of laughter, encouragement, and friendly competition throughout. The grown ups certainly had fun!

A huge well done to all of our Cubs for giving their best effort and to the parents, carers, and family members who joined in and helped make the evening such a success. In total we had 38 Cubs/siblings/grown ups.

Following the races, we held our Group AGM, where we reflected on another busy and successful year of Scouting, celebrated achievements, and looked ahead to the exciting opportunities still to come.

Thank you to everyone who attended. Events like these remind us what a fantastic Scouting community we have and how much our Cubs families support us! ⚜️
