Time for the council to take a look at the Raincliffe Woods so called 'Community Enterprise', where the value of trees and anything else is only considered in financial terms.
A complete contradiction to what should be cherished and protected!

The authority wants a more consistent approach to trees and woodlands with more protections.

Potentially violating the Wildlife & Countryside act 1981 ...
To protect nesting birds these 'forestry operations' should not be conducted after March by any responsible organisation!
AND - How can a so-called 'charity' that receives thoudands in grants, be allowed to plunder what it should be protecting in a 'community woodland' to simply make a few more measly quid?
Still taking out the best trees including fine mature Beech Trees and still stripping out the staple Larch Trees and replacing them with NOTHING.
This is definately not 'SUSTAINABLE' custodianship.

Raincliffe Woods so called 'community' rip off please note -
The Larch trees planted few decades ago in this wonderful woodland habitat. How misguided to fell our Larch and so-called 'none-native' tree species when a 'mixed woodland' is the best protetction for nature in the Twenty First century!
Never mind b 'enterprise' because you won't win, instead 'Put Nature first'!

The colony lives in woodland which is managed to protect the rare red squirrels.

Why the best way forward for OUR local woodland is the END of the so-called 'UNSUSTAINABLE' Community Enterprise and why financial grants from various generous organisations would be better spent elsewhere!
TRUTH IS RWCE HAVE DONE NOTHING FOR THIS COMMUNITY OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS PLUS!!
The only visual result of their disastrous tenure is an utter mess, uneven gaps in the forest and tree canopy, damage to wildlife including badger setts. removal and crushing of young saplings preventing regeneration including he trees planted by the Woodland Trust. A false flag regarding Larch disease in Raincliffe simply to facilitate more excessive felling while tree brash strew everywhere stifling any potential regrowth after their appalling invasive 'industrial scale' felling exercises.
What have they actually done for OUR COMMUNITY is simply nothing but ruin what was a precious and unique public amenity and wildlife habitat.
'Give nature a chance', and if they can't work OPENLY with nature and this community as evidently they haven't a clue (except for making a few quid to further prolong the destruction) by far the best news would be not just board resignations but the total dissolving of he whole doggy set-up!
Save the woods save the deer/habitat and protect the community from any more deceit.
