This summer we spent a little time with the trustees from Everybody Arts at Woodend showing them the artists spaces and talking about what we get up to in our communities. Was really lovely to meet you all 🍄

Yesterday afternoon we returned to the workshop with Matt and got down to another session of fused glass creating. 🖼️

The two samples we made the week before were out of the kiln, it was cool to see how the wire we shaped into a splat and SHEP really gave a nice outline. The skull design Rowey made came out with some vibrant colour pops. He’s now started sampling with the wire and Andy is now looking to create some round shaped pieces that can be displayed in stands. These can then be used for garden installations in the future projects we create. A fused glass greenhouse is definitely something we aim to achieve. 🍄

Many of you will know Matt from the BBC’s repair shop show, he now shares an amazing workshop studio with Rachel Welford at Manor Road business park. You can also catch him up at Stepney Hill Eco Project as a volunteer. His Instagram is well worth following. 🌻

A day in the woods is just what the doctor ordered. Andy, Rowey & Matt spent the morning getting things set up for some bushcraft activities kicking off this Saturday up at Stepney Hill Eco Project. 🪓

The fire will be lit, the kettle will be on and the volunteers will be treated to a good dose of forest bathing with a few treats on hand. 🥓 🔥 ☕️

We’re starting to roll out some pilots so we can offer a multitude of different workshops for the local community. Adapting to suit all ages and abilities. The spaces we’ve spent the past year developing will start to now get some real use in a therapeutic educational environment. With our forest school trained team on hand to deliver some fun activities. 🌲 🧠 🌻

If you would like to come and join in then drop us an email and we can work together, open for collaborations and school visits with experiences on offer at Stepney Hill Farm. We have it all with a really passionate group of volunteers. ☮️

Day one of the Big Draw completed ✅

Sara had a fantastic day with a lot of people coming along and having some fun experimenting with geli printing, mark making and then all adding to the big floor mural. 🎨

She will be there again tomorrow from 11am - 3pm at the old Shakespeare pub opposite the market. It’s all FREE so come explore your creativity. This is Scarborough 🖼️

Yesterday Andy & Rowey went and spent some time with Matt & Debby at his workshop. Getting hands on with the art of fused glass experiments. 🍄

First up they got to use glass cutters to form shapes and then have the confidence to snap glass, picking up the process quite quickly under the guidance of Matt. Each getting to try out different techniques using wire and an assortment of colours. 🖼️

These workshops are really interesting and with his last project he showcased at RHS Chelsea flower show with the children’s society, we couldn’t wait to get hands on with trying this heritage craft out. We will be returning next week to see how these came out of the kiln. 🔥

Our creative minds are on overdrive now as we think about creating a large glasshouse project…imagine those colour pops when the sun hits 🎨 🌞 💥

Today we welcomed Anna into our creative space and got down to some serious Fairie furniture making and set designing. The sun was shining and we had a wonderful time. 🌞

Andy & Sara had been out foraging natural materials in Raincliffe woods and Woodend gardens. Nature really does have everything you need and with that added potion of imagination we have started to create some incredibly cool props. This was so much fun with Anna and we can’t wait to host these kind of workshops up at Stepney Hill Eco Project with you guys. 🧚 🌲
