This is ridiculous. Energy bills are soaring and Labour want to cut back on the technology that will help end our reliance on gas boilers.

This short-sighted decision will undermine investment in a growing British industry, and send a signal to the rest of society that the climate emergency is no big deal.

Couple this with Andy Burnham's support for the Jackdaw gas field, and it's clear that Labour are failing us all in the face of the climate emergency.

Just a reminder that there are 120 people seeking asylum in Scarborough, a town with a population of 60,000.

It might suit some people's political agendas to pretend that irregular migrants are some kind of existential threat to society, but this is completely divorced from the reality on the ground.

Scarborough should be proud to support people seeking asylum, and these figures show that it's something that we can very easily do.
