Dear Parent/Guardian/Supporter,
The Unit Management Team (UMT) is the committee working behind the scenes, responsible for making sure the staff and cadets have what they need to be the thriving sea cadet unit that they are.

Due to recent retirements, our team now is small, too small. Can you help please?
We could really do with at least 2-4 new members to join the team. Specifically, we need a new Secretary. We would also like to get a Vice- Treasurer with a view to succeeding the current Treasurer in the future.

UMT member requirements –
• All UMT members must be vetted by disclosure Scotland
• Be onboarded through the intake process which includes 4-6 hours of computer based training. This is quite basic and we will support anyone who wants through this.
• The UMT meet 6 times a year, 5 regular meetings (every 2 months) and an AGM
• We try to hold 1 fund raising event a year
• All in all, generally this amounts on average to less than 12 hours per year!

Secretary – additional duties – approx. 20 hours per year
• Takes notes at the meetings and write up the minutes (approx. 1 hour each meeting)
• Share the minutes and send out with agendas for the next meeting (15 mins)

Vice Treasurer – approx. 36-60 hours per year
• Begin to work with existing Treasurer and see what is required (est. time commitment, 2-4 hours/month)

If you are able to assist please email the unit or see the Commanding Officer on a Monday or Friday evening

Due to the risk of snow and ice on the roads, the unit will not be open tonight 13/02/26.
