Phew, what a weekend to conclude the Bingham Model Raceway 2026 season!

We are always proud to host the IconicRC Revival race meeting, with more than 160 drivers competing on each day over the weekend. It's a very special event for everyone, with many great friendships, memories of friends who are sadly no longer with us, and a very good cause in aid of Parkinson's UK.

2wd on Saturday went very smoothly, and then we welcomed some unwanted technical gremlins into Race Control that made the start of the 4wd event on Sunday somewhat challenging..!

Great job by the BMR crew with the help of some others to get things going and finish the day wiith a minimal delay. Thank you to the commentary team Nathan Ralls and Rick Greenwood for helping to keep the pace of the meeting up throughout qualifying and the finals.👏

Well done as usual to John Weston for organising the event and thanks all of the drivers for your understanding and support when things got challenging this morning, and the positive feedback you gave us at the end of the event. It truly means a lot to us. 👏

Finally - well done Kamran Wells for an ingenious solution to call the finals off without having the usual sound system. BRILLIANT! 👏

The committee will be at the track on Sunday doing pre Revival maintenance work so that the place is looking it's best for the last event of the year. If any volunteers fancy helping out, come and join us from about 11am onwards.

With the reducing evening light and change of weather, we're calling time on Arrive and Drive for this season.

So we now just have the IconicRC Revival on 12th-13th September left to go on our 2026 race calendar.

A combination of the last BRCA National of 2026 for Darren and mountain biking in Scotland for Paul means there won't be an Arrive & Drive session on Friday 28th August. However, members can still book a practice session using the request form on the club website.

We plan to hold 1 more Arrive & Drive session on Friday 4th September, before we host the IconicRC Revival the following weekend.

Arrive and Drive is on as usual this Friday, gates open at 5.30pm, with the track open for practice from 6pm until dusk.

Free for club members, £5 for non-members.

We'll make the most of the remaining summer evenings until the light starts to fade.

Well, once again that's it - the end of another BMR BOSS / BMR Retro championship. We'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the drivers who have supported the series in 2026 and made it such a great club championship once again. We try our best to provide a good facility, a good track layout and well-organised events, but without you all we have is a field and a load of rabbits.

We have just one more race meeting left on our 2026 calendar, which is the Iconic RC Revival on 11th-13th September. Then we'll turn our attention to our winter maintenance programme and planning ahead for 2027.

The final championship positions were very close in all classes. Well done to the trophy winners in each class. 👏
