to our wonderful visitors, we really appreciate your love and support for the High Wych Scarecrow Festival each and every year! 🥰 And of course a huge thank you to everyone who lovingly made a scarecrow and decorations for the village - you spread so much joy in this celebration of community 🥹🩷 And finally, let’s hear it for our amazing organisers: Janet, Sam & Kate, Val, Dave & Chris and the whole team, who work tirelessly to make it all happen! Here is a special message from them…

“The Scarecrow committee would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped put this lovely Festival together. We couldn’t have done it without you and there was a huge amount of stuff that quietly went on behind the scenes. The putting up of marquees and gazebos on Friday and then taking them down again on Sunday in the pouring rain was invaluable. The collecting and loading tables and chairs from the church and hall on the trailer and then unloading them and then repeating on Sunday, all tough and heavy jobs. The picking up of litter and sorting the rubbish and recycling, and then sorting again on Sunday and Monday and taking rubbish bags home and going to the dump. The loan of a large fridge - the cafe couldn’t have run without it. The loan of The Theatre Hut - thank you Harlow Theatre Company, we couldn’t have functioned without the use of the hut and your electricity. And how the village all rallied together when we discovered early on Sunday morning that there was no water in the hut or around Baker’s Lane. Thank you everyone for supplying water carriers and water. And the amazing porta loo cleaning fairy (when they were picked up, they asked if they’d been used as they were so clean!). All the help on the church stalls, taking a shift and stepping in when they saw a stall was struggling and needed help. Even the lend of a wheelbarrow to transport cakes etc - we’re so grateful for everything. THANK YOU EVERYONE!”

Some people have chosen not to be in the Competition despite their brilliant creations 😘 And you are ALL winners in our eyes but here are the results of the combined public vote and judging by Ian Brown, our retired postie 🤠 Congratulations to all the talented scarecrow makers and all those who made beautiful boats - thank you for yet another amazing year! 🌟
