Learning Disability/SEND 'Come and Try it Event'
🎾🏓⚽🏈🏏⛳💃
A relaxed/inclusive event intended to give all participants a taste of new sports and skills. You are encouraged to bring the whole family along, if space allows parents/carers and siblings may join in. The social space will be open for all.
At the event there is disabled access, disabled toilets, disabled parking, guide dogs allowed and free onsite parking.

Miracles To Believe In are an amazing charity 🧩

"Miracles to Believe In" is a charity in Leicestershire, UK, focused on providing leisure and recreation activities for children and young adults with autism, including outings and events during school holidays and weekends

Myself & Ollie were fortunate enough to secure a space at Lollipops Pottery Painting Studio earlier on in the year

We had the best time together ♥️ 💙

Well it’s officially den building season ⛺️ 🤣
Ollie has always loved making dens
He enjoys finding anything he can around the house or garden
Today it’s a simple one
2 garden chairs & a brolly
Add a bit of sunshine
He’s happy I’m happy
He usually makes dens when he wants some down time
It is a great way for him to self soothe 💙

Evening all 👋🏻

1/2 term is officially done 👌🏼🥳😆

It’s been a lovely week for us as my husband Lee had the week off from work 💙

We visited The Black Country Living Museum & Tenpin

We also had days of just chilling 🥰

Encouraging the kids to make their own entertainment. Crafts,baking & just being bored

It’s ok for kids to be bored. We can’t do something fun every single day. It can be hard & it can be expensive

1/2 Term 🙈😬
I’m not sure about you guys but I find weekends can be challenging enough…let alone 1/2 term
No real structure & broken routine
Ollie needs to be busy…..ALL the time 😫
This can be tiring & can even feel quite suffocating at times
Today he is making Pizza 🍕
He’s chosen the toppings he likes & made it all by himself
I find taking a step back sometimes & letting him be independent really helps us both
I have overseen him but let him do it his way,the way he chooses
He has rolled his own dough,made his own tomato sauce,chopped his onions,shredded his ham & sprinkled his cheese
The best part is seeing him tucking into something he loves that he’s made all by himself
Happy 1/2 term 💕

‼️CHANGE‼️
This week has been challenging,not for me but for my boy
Trying to get back into his ‘routine’. Back to school,away from his happy place
Returning from School holidays can be tough for all children & us parents too but its ok,I hear you 🙌🏻
1st day back,he found it really really hard & came home very quiet & subdued
I know ‘distraction’ works for Ollie & ‘diverting’ him helps to lift his mood
What better way than to give him a little job to do
He loves to build & create things so I had an idea 💡
I’d ordered a new radiator cover…
I just knew that Ollie would love to build it
So off he went to get his toolkit & here he is 😍
He didn’t want help,he knew exactly what he was doing,yes he got a little frustrated at times but with reassurance & his fiery determination he did it 🥇
I couldn’t be more proud of this beautiful boy. He’s old before his time & im sure he’s been here before but he’s happy,I’m happy
Change can be ok 💙
