After the end of the YVS programme in Stranraer last year, our next Youth Volunteer Scheme location in D&G will be… Sanquhar Community Fire Station! 🚒✨

This page will now follow the journey of our newest Youth Volunteers and our dedicated Volunteer Instructors as they begin this amazing new chapter.

Thank you to for a wonderful evening at Stranraer Academy which was hosted by our very own Dylan along with Emma. Young people from across Stranraer and the Rhins received recognition for all their hard work in the last year.

We, as instructors, were also honoured to receive a special recognition award. Thank you again for this, we all appreciate it!

Area Commander Marshall attended the station last night to meet the youths before end of course and watched them perform a drill. He thought the standard and teamwork was excellent! Thank you again for coming down to see us.

A woman who died in the Solway Estuary, Cummertrees, Annan has been formally identified.

She has been named as Shona Campbell, 74.

Her death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Tonight we joined Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway Youth Volunteer Scheme to help pack bags for shoe box appeal. A big thank you to Robert Stevenson from Drumlochart Bar for his generous donation to support the appeal. Great teamwork once again by the Fire and Police Youths.
